...Too soon for a joke? · 10:51pm Dec 2nd, 2015
If I inserted a reference to "Monty Python and the Holy Grail's" french knights and castle in the story, think it be in bad taste after the terrorist attacks; of which Paris was included? Still seeing a lot of red, white, and blue stripe flags around and even though the Monty Python reference has nothing to do with the French except through proxy, I wouldn't want it to be in poor fashion.
I'm pretty sure that would be okay. Really doesn't have enough to do with the situation to be offensive in anyway.
Can't be nearly as offensive as the guy who lit firecrackers at the memorial when they held a moment of silence for the people who died.
I think it'll be fine.
3587919 Dear Lord I wish you were joking. It's not bad to want to be sensitive to what's going on right now, but don't let that drag down the quality of your writing.
Go for it. I think it doesn't make any sense that anyone would connect Monty Python to that.
You can do a Monty Python French Taunter esque scene, but you can alter it for MLP like this:
"I'm a Griffin! Why Do You Think I Have An Outragous Voice You Silly Pony!"
"I'm a Kirin! Why Do You Think I Have This Outageous Hair Style You Silly Pony!"
or "I'm a Mintotaur! Why Do You Think I Have These Long Horns You Silly Pony!"
You can make a character based on The French Taunter (but isn't French). Though if your going to a French Taunter reference you must throw farm animals at someone
And remember Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life *Whistles*
The short answer, No. Besides being my favorite comedy of all time, that film was made several years ago, is a staple of comedy, and I don't think it would be in 'poor' taste at all. The movie wasn't trying to be 'offensive', nor should comedy be curbed because of a cowardly attack. I say go for it.
Go Go Go!
Go for it, Tarbs. I don't think it will cause too much damage.

3587919 WHAT!?
Back on topic, proceed Tarb.
Quonteing LeBouf, "Just do it", but in all seriousness, i higly doubt someone would be offended, only a real prick.

3588174 from what I heard he was arrested and what was not reported was he was most likely beaten by the French police, Although the latter is just my assumption.
I'd say, go for it. It's a classic joke and if well adapted, no one will notice.
its fine dude,
Considering that the French came out on top in that movie, I think you'll be fine.
I have complete faith in the fact that it will be fantastic, so go for it!
I don't see why not, after all, the French were the one's kicking the Britain's Butts in that movie. The French have often been a butt-end of some british jokes, like in Blackadder's "Back and Forth", but in the context of the Monty Python joke, I think it will be okay, showing they don't take crap from NOBODY. XD
I look forward to your Monty Python reference. No one is likely to be offended, save by being the target of their insults.
Go for it; it's just a joke.
No Tarb, it would not be in poor taste. For someone to think it was, would be such a stretch of logic, it would render the complaint null and void. You could set the next chapter in Paris, Prance, and it would still not be in bad taste. Bad things happen in the world all the time, and we don't suddenly pretend like they're too sacrosanct to make mention of.
Don't worry about it. It's okay to make that joke, since it doesn't pertain to anything bad. So you should be good.:)
Go for it
