Twilight floated a second fritter up to her mouth when she realized the first was gone. “What is in these things?” “Mostly love. Love ‘n about three sticks of butter.”

Blast from the Past: Now 100% Less Likely to Get Me In Trouble

Hey, some of you guys remember that thing I did a long time ago, where I wrote up 50 questions about headcanon and suggested people answer them on their blogs, and then, like, everyone on the site wanted to do it, and then the site mods sent me nice but stern messages suggesting I cut that shit out because it was spamming people's feeds?

PSA: Weirdness with Mysterious Unfollowings · 1:18am Jul 25th, 2015

About a week and a half ago or so, bats noticed that he had inadvertently unfollowed me at some point. We thought that was weird, but it was pretty easy to notice because bats only follows a few people. (Actually, it was Jake R who noticed it, though I can't remember if he ever explained why he was snooping in bats followers.)

Anyway, just now I got a PM from Titanium Dragon asking (very politely) why I unfollowed him. Which I didn't, I know I was following him last weekend.

I went through my list of people I'm following, and as far as I can tell I haven't unfollowed anyone else (but it's hard to tell because I follow a lot of people.) So, uh, you guys might want to do the same, or drop a line to someone if you know they were following you and they don't seem to be anymore. And maybe poke around if someone you thought you were following has been uncharacteristically quiet.

I have no idea if this is a site bug, or if people are just accidentally clicking the unfollow button while poking around the site, but it's something to keep an eye on.

It's true that the follow button is a devil on mobile devices, and it's hard to notice what's missing (fuck you, Wally, and stop hiding in crowds with abnormal amounts of red-and-white striped jumpers), but I'll spread the word.

This is why I use Sollace's Noseyhound script. It tells you who has followed and unfollowed you between clicks, as well as who has changed their name recently.

This happened to me back in 2013, actually. I had recently gotten to know RainbowBob, and he, being the cool fellow he is, followed me back after I followed him. Flash forward to a few months later, and I noticed he wasn't following me anymore. I never mentioned it to him, but he eventually refollowed me and told me on Skype that he hadn't purposefully stopped following me, but that he had no clue how it happened.

Something something Knightyyyyyy *shakes fist at sky*

3266980 Hopefully it's as simple as this, on a phone/tablet or PC. I've caught myself almost hitting the wrong buttons on the tablet a few times, simply by proximity and accident.

Maybe they should add a "Are you sure you want to unfollow this person?" pop-up.

Thanks for the rec. Link?

3267066 That's an excellent idea.

I just checked. Didn't notice any strange unfollowings, but evidently Matt Garner started following me and I didn't even notice--which since I'm a big fangirl of his is really kind of weird.

I follow people so I don't have to keep track of who I'm following! D:

Eh, I blasted the Luna episode, so I know exactly where all my unfollowings came from a couple weeks back. :rainbowlaugh:

Huh, weird....

It's really not very fair to unfollow someone because they find the subject matter of an episode upsetting...
Especially when in this particular instance said subject is pretty heavy... :fluttercry:

Well, don't notice anything immediately off with my following and followers. You're still following me and vice-versa, and most of the usual suspects I can think of are still there. bats isn't following me, but he may very well not have been. I'm not following Bookish Delight right now, but while I recall thinking about following them, I couldn't swear one way or another if I did. Certainly something to watch for, though.

I may not be following as few as bats, but with only 59 people I'm following, I probably should follow a few more anyways...

This sounds like some real spoopy shit, yo.

Huh. Hope that doesn't happen to me. Given that about half of the people I follow in case they ever do reviews again, I'd probably never notice if some of them didn't show up in my feed anymore.

Nothing like an accident to cause a misunderstanding. Don't think it's happened to me, thankfully, but I'll keep an eye out. Thanks, bookplayer! ^.^

I'm not following Bookish Delight right now,

Heresy.

3267198
Enh. It'd bother me more if my position in that instance were in any way swayable. The funny part is that Fimfic had undergone an update around that time which broke NH temporarily, so I wasn't able to check exactly who unfollowed me. Probably for the best. :pinkiehappy:

Well, you know, if I actually was close enough to following you that I thought about it, the likelihood is that I just got distracted by something and never hit the button. I suppose I should rectify that...

--arcum42

I've come close to hitting that unfollow button a few times on the mobile app. My phone is older and clumsy.
Which has nothing to do with it being dropped several times. :raritydespair:

Anyways, I'm still following everyone and everyone I follow I'm still following.

I had this problem recently, but for a group, not a user. I'm pretty sure it was a mobile thing because I'd been checking the group on my phone that day, but when I got home I found I wasn't following it any more.
