So to address the elephant in the room wearing the lovely fedora, I havent been updating so much. It's been a couple weeks since I've touched anything. There are a few reasons for this, none of them really fair/reasonable as far as fanfiction excuses go. By that I mean I've been gaming, lazing around, and generally just not writing.
I'm certainly not done writing by any stretch, but I feel like I need to get back to my roots. By that, I mean not editing before I post things.
Yes, I'm self edited, and I'm doing that thing artists do when they just stare at all of their work for hours on end, thinking it's crap, knowing it's crap, and fretting and touching it up for days and days on end. I've been doing that for a while now, and after the debacle with the FiM faculty in November I started doing it more.
I already posted this a couple of times before, that I would try and make smaller chapters in order to post quicker. That didn't work out so much, though I'll certainly never post a big long 17k whopper unless it actually needs it. I'm not sure how just exposition and some dialogue turned into that, but boy did it ever...
I hope you fellas don't mind a bit more 'telling' because I may resort to that in order to shorten things you already know. Anywho, on to the point, I'm probably going to actively resist going back and making changes or editing from now on. To that end, if anyone feel's that they're a good editor, and have free time, and would totally like to help an old wizard with his horse word stories, give me a ring.
I could use help on editing.

I commissioned a piece by Longinus for Mary. Suffice to say it came out rather nice. Perhaps a bit too pin-uppy, but rather nice. Looks like Button's mom has competition! Right? Eh? *slinks away*

News on Updates: I'm truckin' away with ATL, and MLM has not even been started yet. Chapters for other stories like Abhorsen all hang in a near perpetual state of being 50% complete. I feel bad for them, but I can't bring myself to pluck away at their word counts! Hopefully, I will get over this. In my head, I'm saying that before January is over, I'll be out of this no-writing-slump. That I'll be back to normal during February, and that I'll have at least a couple updates out before then.
Hopefully I can get all the ducks in a row, hopefully I can tell the story the way it needs to best be told for the masses, hopefully I won't esplode (intentional mispell) into confetti.

Hey, keep doing things the way YOU feel comfortable doing them. Your style is 10k+ word chapters, it works, it ain't broken, don't try to "fix" it. I like the long chapters for ATL and MLM, because...well, I guess just because.
Also, don't worry about taking a little break from writing. Every writer needs a little time to charge their batteries. The story's still going to be there when you get back to it, we'll all still be here waiting, and we can be patient. Just do what you wanna do, it's your thing.

Editing is nice, but editing can always be done later. I think you're a good enough writer that "post first, edit later" is going to work out fine. :)

Now, onto important matters; the rational/responsible part of me says "you don't have the time or skill to edit someone else's work" but then the social, maybe even Twilight-ey, part of me says "do it, help him out, help a friend in need!" So... Yeah, I hope it goes without saying, but but the Twilight Sparkle in me is stronger.
In other words: I'm wiling to edit for you. I greatly respect your work, and have inspired me to write my own stories. So, if you trust me enough, I'll do my very best!

I dunno, when stories sit idle for too long readers en masse tend to be unsatisfied with them. It is entirely my own fault for writing so many stories, after all.

If the spot hasn't been covered yet, I think I could do the editing for you. I'm pretty good at organizing word-flow, fair to good with my grammar, and I think I've seen enough of your work to be able to catch if something feels out of character.
