Dear Loyal Watchers, Interested Visitors, and Confused Passersby:
So, I commissioned Famosity to turn the sketch that she made for me at BronyCon into a full-fledged bit of artwork. This was the first time that I've ever done something like this, and I have to admit that, in the end, it couldn't have come out any better. It was everything that I was hoping for.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you The Royal We, a piece commissioned by myself and brought to fruition by Famosity. Don't forget to pick your jaws off the floor...
Seriously... I'm just as pleased as could be.
I can only thank Famosity for taking on this project, and I'm glad that it worked out so well. I love the colors, the lighting, and the sense of closeness between Spike and Twilight. Everything just... worked. I have often thought that it was impossible to capture the sense of familiarity and safety between these two, something born of trust, love, and shared experiences. I've tried to capture that in my writing over and over again until I've thought it impossible, but here we see the natural advantage of the visual arts. The impossible becomes reality, and while the visual arts can't explore topics the way we can with the written world, there's something to be said for simply being able to look at an image, especially one as beautiful and delicately crafted as this... and just feel happy.
And now for something truly impossible... getting Knighty to put a Spike image in the FIMFiction Header! Let the campaign begin!

That is damn good TD, I am never disappointed with Famosity's work. Along with Spike we need more Celestia banners as well, and the removal of the Daymare Sun one.

I am here to represent all of your followers in filing an official suit against you. Posting such artwork on a public forum with absolutely no consideration for the personal injuries caused when our lower jaws ecome dislocated and are forcefully slammed into the floor after seeing the image is cruel. There have also been unconfirmed reports of pacemaker failures caused by this image. The attached story only exacerbates the problem and has the additional affect of drilling into ones mind and overwritting what the reader had long accepted as head canon. You must be careful good sir, the affect of pieces like this can be quite profound indeed.

Oh my gosh TD... This and the story on the piece's page just... I don't know what to do to express what I'm feeling right now. I don't even know WHAT I'm feeling right now. Today's been... stressful to say the least, and I don't know if I'll get to sleep tonight after hearing what I did outside my apartment,(Don't worry about it, but if you want to know I'll probably make a blog post regaling the high points of my day(by which I mean points of most interest)) but this just makes me... just... yes. That is all I can say about this. There are no other words.

My only concern for that image being a banner is the lighting. Spike's face is very dark.
I love your take on Twilight and Spike. Ive said it before and I'll say it again: The Twilight / Spike relationship is one of the more interesting and original ones Ive seen in a long time. There really is no perfect word for them. Family to be sure, but that still lacks precision.

You sir have such good relations with you fans. I gave up thanking everypony individually for faves after the second day of publishing, and here you are responding to each and every comment on a blog post. Have a mustache.
As far as expanding this into something you could put on fim fiction, maybe you could make it a two chapter story. The first chapter would be an extremely simple slice of life tale with spike helping twilight study one evening, or something, some short little story we could picture this image coming from. The second chapter of course being what you put on deviant art. That would probably get this over the 1000 word limit. It wouldn't be much, but it doesn't need to be. Sometimes the shortest stories are the sweetest. And I may be WAAAYYYY out of my league in asking/suggesting this, but I would love to try a collaboration by way of writing that first chapter i just described.
