In regards to the chapter that I just finished, something of Luna's part of him broke something about time I believe. But I was talking about the Anubites actually. In regards to your question though? Probably because if nothing bad happened occasionally he and his story would become very boring and we don't want that. No strife means no growth or change.
6586909 Silver is learning SO MUCH :D
She backed away from the shy "pegasus."
Capitalize the first letter in Silver's name.
6587350 Little typos in Fluttershy's little house.
I am so hoping this will turn out ok in the long run. we need our Silver back. stallion or mare just Silver,
Harts Fire
Now that is sum thing I did not see happening that Fluttershy wood interfere with the spell like that. A good chapter! Keep up the good work.
Dragonfox
Wow that was a pretty hard snap, the mindscape will surely be turbulent!
Keep going! ;)
Are you sure you didn't mean troop? A trope of singing birds... A trope about a troop of singing birds... Sorry I think I just confused myself a little.
6591119 Fixed, though the group of birds that sings is something of a trope, is it not?
6591153 Well, it looks like this chapter was the turning point; perhaps Silver has just regained what she lost when she returned to life.
Before that though, this is where we say goodbye to other-David. I honestly can't say that I'm sorry to see him go; I never thought that he added anything to the story, and only seemed to encourage Silver to look backward, rather than forward. For what it's worth, that didn't seem to happen nearly as much as I anticipated it would (at least beyond his initial appearance), but it's hard to say that he had a very large presence in the story either. Better to let him have a nice send-off like this than having him just sort of be there but not really be there (e.g. pull a Jake) all the time.
Insofar as Fluttershy goes, I like how she was portrayed here. Her actions pretty much typify the whole "road to Hell" aphorism, as she really wanted to do what was best for her friend, only to have her good intentions make things worse. There's also how the entire thing with Twilight being unhappy about Silver's absences and studding had two sides to it - on the one hand, that really was causing a negative impact in Twilight's life, but on the other hoof, that really couldn't be helped. The nature of duty is to be burdensome, and sometimes you'll need to perform duties, or allow others to perform duties, that make you or someone else unhappy.
Ultimately, it's to Twilight's credit that she understands and accepts that. Moreover, I think she knows what Fluttershy doesn't; that overall, she's gained more than she's lost in terms of what Silver's brought into her life. I get the feeling that Fluttershy has only seen the bad, and not had enough of the good made known to her. That's not wholly unexpected, given that she's the one who's been around the least (seriously, even Rarity has been around more than her).
I should mention that it's notable that Fluttershy's granting Silver permission to find that lost part of herself seems to have been an active trigger, given how Silver collapsed once it had been granted. I admit, that made me blink, simply because it strongly implies that Fluttershy has had an active ability to restore Silver's missing sexuality this entire time. I had thought that Silver's current affliction was something that was set, and that it would need to be manually restored somehow, rather than something Fluttershy could, essentially, flip a switch and fix. That part seemed odd to me, but it's not a big deal.
With that problem fixed, I suppose the next question is to get back to whether or not Silver will stay female, and if Night can even remove those artifacts. Though I suspect that will come after a large make-up orgy between the herd-sisters.
6591222 You assume Silver would try to take them away from Night, with how happy they make her. That would be very cruel of Silver, to demand them back. She's already a fricken alicorn. Can't she be happy with that?
Darn greedy humans, always wanting more!
You seem to assume it's over with her passing out, but that feels a bit presumptuous and hasty. The door has been unlocked, now we must open it, and pass through. Fluttershy didn't throw a switch, she kicked off the lock to the gate. Now it's time for Silver to see what lurks beyond it.
Things do not often fix themselves, and there are more lessons to be learned.
for singing, troupe fits better.
