Nice chapter. Or seems Silver and Aila made peace with each other.
6074357 Maybe a little more than made peace.
Led by her to the "already-filled" tub.
His "rapidly-swelling" sheath.
Her "still-lowered" tail.
She drove back "onto" the intruding organ.
6074371 Typos were thrown in the tub and washed out with the dirty water.
6074520 I like this chapter
6074520 Political thrills are put on hold as Silver "gets to know" his servants better, with sexy results!
Things opened up with Shei putting the moves on Silver, barely waiting until after he woke up to start making a rather bold advance. Not only was this not unexpected, but it was pretty clearly telegraphed the night before when Celestia referred to Shei as a literal "broodmare" for Silver. As it was, Silver's needing to continually reassure himself that Shei's actions were consensual straddled the line between amusing and pitiable. Seriously, Silver, when she's going down on you without having been asked, it's kind of hard to presume that you're taking advantage of her. As it was, it was encouraging that he seemed to get the message, and probably would have taken Shei right there in the bath had Aila not walked in (or if Silver hadn't realized that Celestia was watching...naughty voyeur that she is!).
As it is, I suspect that Shei won't want to wait much longer. Her casual dismissal of commoners marrying royalty showed quite clearly that she's already enamored of her current position, to the point of not being able to dream of more. In that light, it makes a lot more sense that she wants to be useful to Silver, including sexually. Receiving so much for so little naturally brings up the question of reciprocity, and I suspect that Shei wants to be useful so that she won't be replaced or tossed aside. Despite Silver's assurances that he'd never dump them, nopony wants to feel like they're just dead weight. Though I have to admit, Shei's admission that he would decide what became of her children was rather powerful...even if that's the culture of concubines, it's still a powerful statement of submission on her part that she was willing to give up her own foals so willingly. That Silver assured her she could keep them was clearly another mark on her "best master ever" scorecard.
Also, I admit that I laughed when Silver initially waved Aila way by saying that Shei was "working." Indeed, she was! Also, Shei invited Aila to join them in the bath, noting that Silver was being "very kind"...did she just ask her own sister to join her in a three-way?
While Celestia already showed her hoof last night by how unconcernedly she referred to the Windsong sisters as being Silver's slaves, she pushed the envelope here by encouraging Silver to become sexually aggressive towards Aila. Presumably this goes back to the reasons that I posited before, in that Celestia is familiar with not only the context of servitude in Saddle Arabian culture; moreover, given she she's also in her season (and is female, and so knows the signs and signals), she can probably read Aila like a book, and so knows that the other mare wants to be pursued.
(One minor note here is that Silver apparently never told Celestia about what happened in Amenti's room? I'm just going to assume that he told her after he got back.)
So then came the major thrust (pun intended) of this chapter, which was Silver's seduction of Aila. The dialogue here was handled awkwardly...what I'm less sure about is if that's a reflection on the writing itself, or the fact that Silver really had no idea what he was doing. Some of his lines ("never stop being wild and free") were real groaners. Others ("You are mine, Aila. I will treat you well and fair, but you are mine.") were much better, since they seemed to play into the power dynamics that I suspect were at the heart of Aila's attraction - repressed though it might be - as much as they are Shei's. Whether Silver likes it or not, power is sexy, and Aila is keenly aware of that.
I would be remiss if I didn't highlight the degree of narrative exposition we received during their coupling, as well. It was quite sexy to be given insight into Aila and Silver's thoughts while they were doing it, since that allowed for what it felt like for them, both physically and emotionally, to be described directly, rather than being implied by the physical acts. Again, I do feel like there was room for improvement here, but this was still a huge leap forward in terms of presentation. (It also helped a great deal with contextualization - had the scene been depicted just in terms of words spoken and actions undertaken, it would have been Silver becoming forceful and aggressive with Aila, before taking her over her protests, and then her bursting into tears. In other words, it would have been incredibly rape-y.)
As it is, I felt that the highlighting of the difference in their social status - and what Silver wanted from Aila, was highlighted very well. Silver wasn't cruel, but at the same time he was very clear that this was him claiming what was his. Of course, this was underscored by the fact that Celestia had assured him that Aila wanted it (and she was right), but it was still a pleasant surprise to see that Silver was willing to be that aggressive in the first place. Good for him! Being kind and sweet is all well and good, but there's room for being dominant and aggressive as well...as Celestia has demonstrated recently.
Oh, and so much for Aila saving herself for marriage. I wonder if she even realizes that she's pregnant now?
6074781 Shei's going to have words about that. Unkind words...
Of course, now that Silver has gone and claimed her, he has less leg to stand on when Celestia makes her own demands, at least in his own screwy way of thinking, which she is becoming increasingly familiar with. That may have influenced her decision-making for the morning. Celestia gets what Celestia wants.
Aila is scared and I feel Celestia is right Silver needed to clam Ailia in order for her to feel wanted and safe with them.
Silver did right.

6074857 Hm, a very insightful point!
I was thinking about what 6074857 wrote before, and suddenly it all clicked. The backstory for Aila and Shei - why they act the way they do - it all makes sense now.
The reason why Shei is lusty, and not a virgin, while placing such great importance on her sister's virginity. Why she insisted on joining Aila as Silver's slave. Why they're so attached to their inn, and want it to work. Why they're so afraid of being abandoned. I think I've figured it all out: Simply put, before they came to Anugypt, Shei was caught having premarital sex. Due to her "shameful" conduct, Shei was thrown out of her family...and Aila voluntarily chose to accompany her, probably despite her sister's heavy objections (since Aila was still a virgin). Feeling incredibly betrayed by their family, and barely able to scrape by, they eventually made their way to Anugypt, where they opened their inn.
That explains why Shei is so eager to do it with Silver, but doesn't want him to touch Aila - she doesn't want Aila to have to sacrifice the one valuable thing that she has left (e.g. her virginity). Likewise, it explains why Shei was willing to throw herself into perpetual servitude so long as she could stay by Aila, the way Aila had stuck by her. It explains why Aila is so traumatized at the thought of Silver throwing her away, especially now that he's had sex with her, since that's what happened to Shei. It even explains why they're so attached to their inn, since that's the culmination of everything they've been able to earn on their own.
Of course, it's just speculation, but it all fits very well.
6075305 Just think about how 'happy' Shei will be when she finds out Aila was taken by their previously perfect deliverer of salvation.
6075305 vary good I am glad you can put in to words what I am seeing in the story.
I see things in different story's but I can never put it in to word.
I think there is a little more going on but you got that part right on the money.

I have a hard time not seeing this as, well, rape. Especially coming from Silver, who has a lot of valid complaints about his agency being stripped from him. This mare who was saving herself for marriage and told him no to his face in no uncertain terms repeatedly is now forced to not only provide his pleasure, but also (without even the usual human uncertainty on the matter) bear his foal. The fact that she succumbed to the physical pleasure part way through wouldn't invalidate a rape charge here on Earth (though it could stop the victim from pressing charges, of course. Maybe).
And that's on top of the infidelity issue, already present with Shie. I am pretty sure Night Watch's permissiveness for studding as an exception applies only to volunteers.
That said, this isn't necessarily going to work out poorly for Alia. Being turned into a mare didn't work out poorly for Silver, after all. But her ability to chose on something as fundamental as motherhood was ripped from her by someone who normally likes to lecture others on the need to ask permission.
6075664 Silver is trying to do the right thing, and as suggested by Celestia. He messed up on a few levels. He'll have to hustle to try and get it back together. It helps that he really does want Shei and Aila to be happy and safe, but they're in for a rough patch in the middle of political intruige.
tsundere horse servant ayoooo!
6075664 I'm not sure what you meant by "the infidelity issue," since everypony knows that Silver is supposed to be getting his stud on. Even Night Watch was warming up to that idea before Silver left for this trip.
That said, I think that there's a point that needs to be considered, here: the difference between what Celestia did to Silver and what Silver did to Aila isn't a question of agency, but a question of whether or not it was considered just. You can be justified in removing someone's agency from them - it's why criminals are locked up. Celestia was wrong not because she removed Silver's agency, but that she did so as punishment for something that should never have been a crime (e.g. he was defending himself). Her actions were unjust.
Silver, by contrast, was completely justified in placing Aila in bondage to himself. She tried to commit premeditated murder, after all. Moreover, she's accepted that her punishment in this regard is justified - with the incumbent nature of her having to act in whatever manner Silver deems fit, including sexually. So Silver isn't wrong in this regard.
That's leaving aside the fact that the narration flat-out told us that Aila did want this. She may have struggled and protested, but the point of having an omniscient narration is that we can be told - in a manner that we never would be able to in real life - what the character "really" wants/thinks/feels. (Similarly, the question of how Silver would be judged here on Earth is a moot point. He's not on Earth, and things self-evidently work differently in this world anyway.)
As such, I don't think that Silver can be judged in the same harsh light as Celestia, here.
6077838
I don't think we need to argue the 'is it or is it not rape' issue farther. I think both sides are presented clearly enough at this point. Also, it's hard to articulate, but I actually don't judge him particularly harshly in this case despite feeling it objectively qualifies as rape. It might be unthinkable to some, but I think there is a range of how bad rape can be, and this is toward the shallow end. Easy to think of far worse cases.
But to answer your question, the "infidelity issue" is that Silver is cleared for studding specifically, and for sleeping with any of his wives any time. At home, this means he has a half dozen anytime partners plus any willing, receptive mare in his path. Here, five out of six wives are out of reach, the one in range isn't being particularly good at keeping him satisfied (in fact she's being particularly poor at that, perhaps intentionally), and Luna can't put mares in his path as efficiently.
The incident with the fake RD highlighted that no, it's not okay with Night Watch for him to just go around using any willing non-receptive mare for his own pleasure. That means at this moment, Shei is off limits, but Aila is not, because Aila would be a legitimate case of studding. Night Watch is pretty much the only one really hurt about it, though, as far as we've seen. Fast Change is too open sexually to really be put off, and would just like to be included in the sexy times. And the other Princesses have their own various angles that make them resistant to being hurt about it. I could theoretically see Twilight taking an issue, but I feel like Twilight/Silver haven't grown their own relationship enough for her to get jealous? And for that matter, the Royal Circle was her idea to begin with. So she's not overly possessive of Silver's stallionhood.
Night Watch, on the other hand, has to struggle with trying to believe his assurances that she's his favorite, even while he keeps finding other holes to fill. >_> It's clearly not easy on her.
6078152 Blargh, my reply to your comment got kicked over to chapter 13, instead of being here on chapter 12. That's what I get for replying on the story's main page.
Silver really is such a slut.
6412577 He's been called that a few times in this series.
This is hard to read due to one of the servants having a similar name to my wife.
6582492 I'm almost curious which one, though I suppose that's a little personal.
naïve
Well there goes the last of 4th gen imagery I was trying to maintain, it's all jumped into full size pony/horse imaging now with this latest love act Master/servant thing. That puts the cats into a different perspective too as size relevance comes into play, Can't picture them as anything other than African big cats now, lions, leopards , cheetahs with maybe cervals as servants. Making Amenti a lioness juvenile.
6935729 I have no strong objections to that idea.
That was not O.K.. It was rape and it was not acceptable. I'm going to continue reading this for now, but that was not O.K., and also seemed out of character for Silver.

Does it feel wrong? It may jar you awake. I wouldn't blame you.
