Princess Celestia has watched Twilight grow, develop, and endure. Twilight has exceeded her expectations each and every time, and now she's enjoying a productive life full of joy and wonder. As far as Celestia is concerned, their studies together ended quite some time ago. But there's still one thing she'd like for her learn, something she can't exactly teach.

Roseluck is absolutely positive she isn't going insane. Nope, not one bit. She's just confused and maybe a little frightened. For instance, she's starting to notice that everyone in town looks very similar. Then there's the fact she's no longer a unicorn. But that's okay. As long as she keeps her cool, whatever is happening should all work itself out in the end, as everything usually does.

She just wished somepony would believe her.

Everypony knows that a thousand years ago, Princess Luna was cursed into becoming Nightmare Moon. As a result, Princess Celestia reluctantly banished her younger sibling to the moon to safeguard Equestria. What no one knows, not even Celestia herself, is that Luna didn't get sent to the moon as intended. Instead she spent a thousand years on a far distant planet, unintentionally becoming an influence on that world's history. She yearns to return home but all she can do is wait. Wait, and the stars will set her free.
