This story is a sequel to Night Reigns

With Harmony restored to Equestria, everypony needs to get back to work. Princess Luna is off to the Crystal Empire to guide the Crystal Ponies back into modern society, and Sunset Shimmer and Sterling Honor set off to retrieve the lost Elements of Harmony.

What starts out as a simple retrieval mission quickly grows complicated, and things don't seem to be making sense in the Crystal Empire either. As Sunset and Sterling travel across Equestria they start to unveil the seeds of a far darker plot than either expected - and a danger to Equestria that none were prepared to face.

Discord receives an unexpected visitor who wants to hear about his life with Fluttershy.

This one was in my mind as I woke this morning, and I really had to write it down. It's short, it's non-canon (of course), but I hope you enjoy it anyway. Fair warning - sad content.

An ancient Luna reflects back on her very long life...

This is just something that came to mind... I don't consider it any kind of canon. I wanted to write it as vague as was reasonable, honestly, but I had to tie in a few things. It's another tiny short one-shot.

Nightmare Moon's escape from the Moon could not have gone better for her. Celestia herself was unable to face her, and Celestia's trainee was woefully underprepared for the assault. It did not take long to shake out the remaining pockets of resistance, and then she took the throne for herself.

Ten years of darkness have passed, and Celestia has finally managed to break Nightmare Moon's spell and return to Equestria. The exile and the difficulty of the escape took a serious toll on the solar Princess, and she returns to a land very different from the Equestria she loved.

Weak and very nearly alone, she needs to rebuild her strength, and put things right again. But can she even be sure what right is, anymore?

Teaming up with the lion next-in-line to rule, she lends her aid and secures the throne for him.

After Luna's defeat as Nightmare Moon, Princess Celestia is left alone to raise the night sky. She stands on the balcony, caught off guard by her loneliness and despair. She goes through the motions, all the while questioning her actions and trying to defend them, not only to Luna, but to herself.
