I ran my hand along the wall, feeling the small dimples in the metal. I looked at it, feeling as though I forgot something. As I studied the scratches I noticed a picture. What looked like a human in a coat. With a knife.

“Is that... me?”

A picture is worth a thousand words. It's a shame I don't have 2.

Fun fact: this was originally going to be the cover picture for this story (and may still become it) but I decided against it in favour of the bloody hand. I've decided to finally upload it anyway. (By which I mean I didn't realise it had to be posted on the Internet. Btw, thanks to Honored Service for your help with that.)

I think (with a bit of help) I know what you are talking about in your original question. In relation to honor above all else, this is currently at about rally point (ch 34). At this point Honored has still not found the elements.

It was actually larger, but then I realised that I was just being stupid and impractical at that point, so I changed it.

Is the picture engraved in the wall with scratches?
Is the picture hanging on the wall in a frame?
Is the picture sticky-taped to the wall or put up there with a fridge magnet or something?
Or is he just having a vision of this picture?
Or maybe it's a cave painting?

Yeah, I kinda wish I could get one too. Fucking Australia and its weapon laws. Anyway, the original knife was almost as wide as the body and four times longer than that. So as I said, impractical. In fact, you might notice that the knife is made out of titanium alloy, because that's the only way it would be swingable but still strong. Random rambling fact of the day.
