The Let's Read Crew found out about the LTD continuation in the newest Let's Read episode. Oh boy were they mad lol.
Cool, Stands are now in LTD. That'll be fun to explore.
That's rad. It's basically an Ego version of cybernetic enhancements. I wonder who's going to choose this one.
Also on that bit about "strengthen your soul through other means", something really cool is going to happen with that. I'll just have to wait and see how it will play out until then.
I doubt she even needs a weapon, her claws and strength will suffice.
Though to give you more options, Scarabedlam has a less advanced version of Ego weapons. Basically the more you use a weapon it becomes bonded to your soul. A bonded weapon can channel things like Thorns, is lighter, more durable, and can be recalled back to your hand if you hold it out. And with intricate weapons like Sucro guns they won't function unless used by the bonded person.
In fact, there are several legendary weapons that have been left behind after the bonded person has died. Most are locked in museums, but those super weapons have been known to occasionally re-bond with another person. It's a major plot point in Part 4.
I hope this info has helped you in some way.
Oh! there's a classification system for Egos? I should probably make one for Thorns then.
There's the [Alteration] class. Alteration Thorns work by manipulating the world in someway. This is by far the most common variety (It's the easiest to make ideas for). The Cakehurst's alchemy is an example of this one.
The altercation class has a subclass known as [Transformation]. Transformation Thorns just alter the person's own body. An example is Franze's Thorn, which let's her turn parts of her body into guns.
There's the [Creation] class. Creation Thorns work by creating new matter out of Sucro. An example of a creation Thorn is Caderose's smoke Thorn, his works by creating Smoke out of nothing.
There's the [Conceptual] class. Conceptual Thorns let the user mess with a certain concept. An example would be Talio's overpowered Thorn, which is the concept of dodging.
I'm just going to put a [Misc] class just in case a Thorn happens to not be in the other 3. Like, I don't know where to put a mind reading Thorn into.
Thorns often overlap in the categories, usually with conceptual. I'll give an example. The part 4 protagonist has a Thorn that is the concept of combustion. It's an Alteration Thorn because she can force shit to explode if she touched it. It's a Creation Thorn because she can create little orbs that can explode. Conceptual is self explanatory.
I just made this off the top of my head so it isn't perfect. Thorns have so much variety it's regarded in-universe as a fool's errand to classify them.
That feels very situational. It probably won't come into use until the stars align and she becomes the ace of an arc.
That's a very open ended Ego. I can see this one being very strong if used correctly.
Here's the healer of the group. Can't hack off limbs without one.
This one can be very deadly if worked right. If she supercharges someone's regeneration she can turn them into a giant tumor.
That's going to be annoying to fight against. It reminds me of the Royal Guard style from Devil May Cry.
I can't help but think about wolverine in this scenario. Metal coated skeletons and all that.
Wow she's dumb. This is some Lance tier logic
New conscience unlocked. It's a requirement at this point to have one if you're a main character.
This ability is way too strong. She has too many abilities in general. Well, have fun balancing all this, because other than being not smart she has very few weaknesses.
Katanas will never not be cool, even as overused as they are.

Oh yeah, I just saw it XD That was super fun to listen to
I added them into my Eternal Plains concept years ago, but only one character ever used one, so I never got to explore them.
Egonetics are my favorite concept, but they were always hard to balance, so I almost didn't put them in this story. They are 100% just cybernetic enhancements, just more versatile. XD
She's trained in unarmed and armed combat, with guns and swords, as far as we've been shown so far. She may prefer swords for the 'cool factor' over guns, and because its easier to control how you hurt someone with blades. She hasn't killed anyone, and as far as she is now, not actually planning on it.
I love that concept for weapons. Ego Weapons work similarly, but mainly through use and absorbing Ego. This info will help me later.
There were 4 a few years ago, the other being "Godly Ego" but I went back and retconned that long before this continuation began. It was hard to think around, and my characters kept dying when I had them face someone with a Godly Ego, so I had to take them out of the story.
Now this lore dump is great!
Betting is a weird one, but a character in the original Eternal Plains used it to bet against a UAD god, so... XD
Forcefields, shits going to be fun if she develops a certain way.
Every party needs a healer. I've set them up like a shitty DnD party on purpose XD
Her Ego would be the perfect Ego for a villain, just saying.
His Ego is also going to be fun to figure out. Luckily, he has to train to use it.
I refer back to both Shayla and Scamp saying she is not a smart mare.
At this point, it seems that way. XD It's a staple of LTD. At least Rosemary will be more down to earth and not... Breaking Dawn
It is the strongest ability in the Eternal Plains story. However, it starts out as a pretty lack luster Ego, since you have to actually train it and learn it yourself, so she won't be walking around one shoting anyone anytime soon. Luckily, I know how I'll be balancing her, so we should be good to go. I mean, she has; Martial Arts training, Weapons training, Egonetics, Soul Enhancement. I miss anything? XD
As of right now, as far as skill and strength, she's at about Part 3 Epilogue Scamp. However, mindset wise, she's at a solid 'Lance fighting Frederic's dad' level of mindset. Aka, thinking they're a badass, but haven't faced a real opponent yet.
I actually prefer Longswords and scimitar's :P BUT! If I was in a fantasy world, Katana's. Cool factor and perfect cutting curve. But any training I have is in Longsword only, so ya know.
