It's not often I see stories on this site with such classical inspiration. You managed to put an interesting spin on a centuries-old story, and examine it in a new light. You got some good character drama out of this, although I feel like the story's short length didn't allow enough time to savor that element. If this had been a bit longer, with more detail of the MC's experiences, I think this could have been a stellar story, although it's pretty good as-is.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I did actually think about If I should have expanded on my main characters background. But, I think I was just too focused on finishing my first story instead of fleshing out his back story. I only wrote this in a few hours lol. Although I will take your constructive criticism and bring it into my next story.
