That was... Intense.

Yes, it was. I'm glad though. It was the intention.
Dream chapters always catch me off guard, that was cool.

Great!
How many Black Suns ago was this?

This will make more sense after the next chapter, but isn't really a spoiler.
After these events the pony goddesses needed four cycles to get things right. The fourth cycle was FIM. But events not yet revealed after Twilight took over Equestria caused the Black Sun to be triggered. This is their fifth attempt, so the events of Gilda's nightmare happened four Black Suns ago.

I'm guessing that the fifth Black Sun presages the next series.

I like the idea. But the plan for the moment is to avoid the next Black Sun and to keep the AU centered in the events of this version of the world and the ones of FIM.
Unless the G5 series starts and has something very cool that I could use with the whole idea of the AU. Then it would become a secondary series. That is definitively possible. Even if I have several ideas lined up with entire stories already outlined to spin-off or continue from Fólkvangr and Piece of Parchment. If some idea seems underdeveloped in either of these stories, chances are I plan on exploring them in one of those. Like the battle of Thunderpeak when the Chancellor's forces reach the city. That tale Master Galahault told is getting a full story. There's going to be a espionage-esque story about how the Chancellor knows of the things the northerners are doing. In Fólkvangr's next chapter is going to introduce some lore about Luna's dream magic and there is going to be another story about that. A full story about the war between the Griffon Empire and the rest of the world. I have stories lined up for years.
Whoa...I dont know how or what or why...im kinda okay with that, but im also curious as hell.
Did the alicorns betray harpyia?
And in doing so they ripped reality apart?

I'm refining the next chapter to be sure it explains everything. And to be sure, I'll post a blog explaining what is the deal with the Black Sun and the analogy that the next chapter will bring.
(As requested, I'm adding another comment about Gilda's dream memories of her childhood.)
I see that Mr. Neighsay was as big of a speciesist ass in the past as he is now. Gilda was an angry chick in her youth, wasn't she? Anger control issues would have certainly driven down her academic performance.
I am guessing that Gloriana's life was taken by tuberculosis or a cancer. My money is on the big 'C', since there were no memories of chronic coughing.

Thanks, DocFlareon. But I meant that I needed feedback on Dreammaker, part 1 and 2. This two-parter is important to the AU as a whole and, even though my editor says it's fine, I'm a bit insecure if it passes along the right idea. Especially in Gilda's dialogue with Luna by the end.
You're not wrong here, though.
It had me going for a bit until I finally figured it was Luna rather than The Harpy speaking to her during the review of her childhood, only shortly before Gilda figured it out, too.
Now, I bet Luna has more than a few questions she wants to ask Gilda....

I'll let you see.
So turns out killing a deity has consequences, who would have thought!?
Either way sounds like Luna and by extension Celestia are about to discover a lot more about The Harpy's current plans than she'd probably prefer, darn Dreamwalkers!

Oh, they're in for a ride.
