This was a good character piece. The premise isn't exactly original, but your presentation was engaging. I think it would have been better if there had been less emphasis on the flashback scene, because I feel that made the story a bit too straightforward, but that's just me. Aside from that, you had some minor mechanical issues throughout and some awkward formatting, but nothing too distracting.
