Starlight Glimmer has always been ambitious with magic studies. Unfortunately, she wishes to experiment with dangerous spells.

After failing to convince her mentor for help, Starlight decides she just needs to find a place where they can study safely. To her, the avoided and mysterious Everfree forest could a good option. Maybe she will finally achieve what she wants. Do or find something that will change ponykind's perception of the world forever.

Be careful what you wish for.

This is starting to get good, I can't wait to see the creature that Starlight released next chapter.

Like the build up here, gettin creepy!

I hate this, literally giving me anxiety reading it late in the night! Still freaking creepy with that reveal, hope Twilight has a chance!

You almost had me on the first line. Glad you hate it!

Edit: Also, may I ask, what is the part or... characteristic of the story, I guess, that’s made you anxious/scared exactly? Just out of curiosity.

I'm a big fan of build up and pay off, and while I don't think we've quite hit pay off fully yet, the build up has been absolutely phenomenal! We as readers know through Starlights first pov chapter that stuff is wrong, and this chapter is just slowly learning with Twilight just how deep the shit Starlight has unleashed upon both her self and the world. That bit between Starlights last fearful writing transitioned with the dry explanation of what Masogda is a fantastic oh shit moment where your stomach (or at least mine!) drops.

Then the last quarter where we see the actual results of Starlights actions begin to play out in the town along with Twilight's concerning thoughts just leave me super anxious!

That’s nice to know. It’s really motivating, truly.
