Where an author tries really hard to not flood the pages with exposition and seemingly irrelevant details and only partially succeeds. Less an exposition landslide and more a...slip and tumble into the narrative snow drift.

Bit of an understatement, for a variety of reasons that will be touched on later. ;)
i kinda wish that you released this story first as we know that baklava ends up surviving. that's not a criticism of the story as its good and i like where its going, it's just that i prefer that stories be released in chronological order as prequels usually end up being spoiled by the main story as you know which characters survive and which don't.
all in all a good story and i cant wait to see what happens.

I completely understand where you're coming from. To be honest, I do have other prequels on the way, as well as sequels. A prologue for Baklava didn't come to mind until I was almost done with Gossamer. I'll try to mark them in sequential order on some sort of list somewhere, if you think that would be beneficial.
Still, I am glad that you're enjoying it, and I hope that you enjoy the conclusion.
I'LL be honest when I first read gossamer I thought that fine silk was kinda evil cause it seemed like she brainwashed razzle dazzle however after reading this story up till now she genuinely seems like a good person who's trying to help people down on their luck with some form of telepathy that ends up causing loyalty to her as a side effect but not like a brainwashed loyalty. I like this alot and am beginning to think that you must have had alot of experience in writing before this and gossamer.
By the way I kind of thought of an idea for a story where miss silk encounters a trans mare who's been rejected and is down on her luck but gives the mare the one thing she wants and makes her an employee. Just a suggestion.

I have been writing for quite a number of years, yeah, but this is the first time that I've written for MLP. I'll be honest, when I wrote Gossamer, I left Fine Silk's alignment purposefully ambiguous because I wasn't quite sure where she would fall. I didn't have a backstory figured out for her besides 'lived a very long time'. Now that I'm figuring her out more, getting a better sense of her as a character personally, I'm hoping that more stories will show her as more of a positive grey character. We'll see how well I do.
And your idea really is a good one! It may come up a little ways down the line, but once I've figured out some of the nuances, I'd be thrilled to write a trans mare. :) Thank you for your suggestion. I really do appreciate it.

So time final comment on this story
I enjoyed this story quite a lot though not as much as gossamer and it did leave me with a few questions. Feel free to answer them if it doesn't spoil upcoming stories.
1. Why would celestia be opposed to herds and outlaw them?
2. Did the curse spread to razzle dazzle during gossamer and if so is that why she was sick?
3. Why do some of the characters go into silk cocoons and how do they work?
4. Finally, will Luna's return affect the story in anyway?
As always I like your stuff and it was nice to see that you like my idea.

Really hope that we eventually get more stories with Fine Silk, so much potential for stories around her. Really enjoyed both of your stories!
