Chapter 4 The Meeting, The Reveal, The Relationship Status, and the Invasion Recollection

Spike entered the Sugar cube surprised to see Tree Hugger "Spike my man, what's up?" Spike waved

"Hi Tree...Look I don't have much time where are Pinkie and Cheese"

"Pinks is in the kitchen despite the place being closed for some repairs for the oven and cheese is with her."

"Cool can you go to the Twilight's Castle. There’s something that needs to talked about" Tree Nodded and left. Spike entered the Kitchen and sure enough, Pinkie was there with cheese trying to use shock therapy to fix the oven

"LIVE!" She Yelled "LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!" She shocked the oven again..."There’s no pulse..."

"It's Okay Pinkie we'll just have to let him go...Oh hi, Spike." Spike Stared at the scene

"Is it always like this with them?" Infernox asked.

"You have no idea pal." Spike Muttered, "So Aside from trying to revive the oven...what are you doing?" Spike asked

"I was getting a snack!" Pinkie exclaimed

"Right anyways. Twilight has called for a meeting

"Oh you mean for that sword and you being the Hero of Harmony?" Spike paused

'Don't Question it. It's Pinkie Pie' He thought to himself. "Yeah..."

"Okie doki Loki...I'll get the others!" And off she ran. There was silence between him and Cheese Sandwich

"Should I go to?"

"Yes" Cheese left as well.

"I should probably head back"

Few minutes in the castle in question

The other mane six, friends of theirs, Shining, Flash, and Their lovers were all present at the cutie mark map. "Thank you for coming on such short notice everyone..." She paused

"Twily Something Wrong?" Shining asked

"YOU BET THERES SOMETHIN' WRONG!" Infrenox Boomed

"What in the hay was that?!" Applejack demanded

"OY! Spike A little help here?" Spike Complied and Position Infernox in the center "Thanks Mate. Now then...I'm the reason for the meetin'"

"Rares am I seein' and hearin' things or is that sword talking?" AJ asked with Rarity nodding "That doesn't answer my question"

"I think we all are experience it" Rainbow Answered for Rarity

"Well now...So you two are Spike's ladies...Nice choice lad!" Infernox said with a somewhat jovial tone.

"HEY!" the Three of them yelled

"Enough!" Shining declared getting everyone's attention. "I guess you have a reason to call us here?"

"Yeah... Names Infernox and I have some bad news, good news, some more bad news, and just news. First off, A GREAT EVIL HAS RETURNED FROM THE DUEL MONSTERS WORLD!!! AND IT'S ON ITS WAY HERE!!" He warned "But the good news is Three heroes are goanna stop it. But the bad news is I only know Spike is one of them...I have no Idea who the other two are... So this brings me to why we're here." Infernox began to float. "The deal is I don't know right now...But I can Find out!" The others looked at him funny

"How?" Discord tapped the table as wondered

"I'm glad you asked...You see the Three heroes are connected to each other...if one has been found than the other 2 are nearby...So with that being said let's get started." Infernox began to glow brightly. "Now there are gonna be a flash of light and whoever has an aura around their body is one of the three heroes." He Glowed Brighter "SAY CHEESE!!"

"Yes?" Before anything could be said, as Infernox said there was a flash of light coming from him, temporarily blinding everyone present. As Expected Spike was glowing...but so was Shining and Flash.

"What?" Flash gasp

"Well. This is unexpected" Shining muttered

"Well that settles who the three heroes are but not which is which...That will be settled later." Infernox Paused "You see I saw a memory in Spike's mind and I'm curious. Tell me about this Second Changeling Invasion." Shining and Flash widened their eyes "I can see in one memories don't look so surprised." Both Guards sighed

"Well..." Shining Started

"We should start at the beginning. The day before the Invasion."

Flashback

In Crystal Empire the mane six and those they chosen to come with them, were enjoying some time off from Friendship Problems, work, studies, and other stress inducing activities. This wasn't by choice though but a decree from Celestia and Luna. Not that they were complaining, after all after being captured by Chrysalis and handling a friendship problem between Celestia and Luna they needed a break. Especially Spike, Shining and Flash. After they were captured they had been secretly training to improve themselves so that the same thing will never happen again.

Interuption

"And just how hard were you three training?" Trixie asked looking a bit angry at her, Sunset’s and Twilight's Boyfriend, Flash; Same goes for Cadence glaring at Shining, Applejack and Rarity Scowling at Spike.

"Not too hard...we think," Spike answered scratching the back of his head

"After the story you three are heading straight to the Spa and getting the premium deluxe treatment!" Rarity ordered

"But-" Shining protested only silenced by Cadence and his daughter who was looking at him with a begging look "Fine...”

"Anyways" Spike Continued

Flashback Continue

The Crystal Empire was having a celebration of their liberation of Sombra. Banners were hung up everywhere "Geeze" Trixie rolled her eyes at the amount of things that were dedicated to Spike and Spike alone "You're like a god to them or something" Trixie snickered

"So I grabbed the Crystal Heart and melted a large chunk of ice, no big deal..." Spike waved the attention off

"IT'S SO OBVIOUSLY IS!!" Many residents exclaimed.

"Don't sell yourself too short, Sugar cube. You did save them from being under the rule of a tyrant again." Applejack praised

"True but you guys-"

"No more of that! We are here to have fun! SO LET'S HAVE FUN!!" Pinkie Declared rushing to join the festivities. The others agreed and went their separate ways. Spike choosing the catch up with Shining and Flash....noticing an increase of guard along the way.

"Shining! Flash!" Spike called.

"HOLD IT!" Shining yelled, "Fight for your honor..." Spike looked concerned but could help but finish the phrase

"We are war." Spike responded

"Okay. It's really you." Flash said as he and Shining relaxed, smiling at their brother.

"Okay...Umm...What was that about?" Spike asked

"Sorry Spike but we got a letter from Thorax and Ember. Many Changelings stayed loyal to Chrysalis and they are planning an attack soon...So yeah. Until either Chrysalis is captured...or dead, we have to stay on guard even more than ever." Shining explained

"Considering our location and WHO is here..." Flash added gesturing to Flurry heart, who was with Cadence "We can't take any chances"

"Really? Huh, it's a good thing I brought my sword." Spike gestured to the weapon holstered to his hip "Besides I have been training, and you have seen how I get when if someone threatens any I hold dear, right?" The two he was talking to shuddered at the memory.

"Yeah, Lets hope it doesn't come to that Spike."

End

"Yeah things were going great until the day after..." Shining Sighed at this point.

Flashback

Spike was enjoying sometime with his two girlfriends. Enjoying some food that Crystal Empire had to enjoy...that is until now. "Spike the Brave and Glorious." A crystal Guard called "Shining and Flash need to have a word with you." Spike noticed something was off and turned to Rarity and Applejack

"The minute something bad happens to get Flurry Heart and Cadence to the castle..." The Two wanted to ask something but Spike had already left. While following the guard he noticed that a few Duel Monsters were getting ready for a fight as if something was about to go down. To his surprise, the guard did, in fact, brought him to Shining and Flash. But He decided to try to confirm if it is them

"Click, Click..." Spike said. Shining smiled and responded.

"Boom, Boom" Spike however Drew his slashed at Shining who turned out to be a changeling.

"Sorry but Flash was supposed to say that." Spike informed finding himself surrounded

"Well so much for stealth" the Changeling muttered as the other Changelings turned back to their real form only to smacked away by the another Shining Armor and Flash Sentry

"Full Speed and Fire up the engine..." Flash Said. Spike sighed looking irritated.

"A supernova ascending" Spike answered back "Does that song really have to be my theme song?" Spike asked begrudgingly "Its-"

"This can wait Spike." Shining Said with finality "The Changelings have already made their move...We need to get the civilians to the safety zones." Shining stated

"Right so while Flash handles-"

"Spike this means you need to get the civilians to safety...and get yourself to a Castle." Flash Interupted

"WHAT?!"

"Look bro I know you wanna help but we need you to help protect Flurry Heart" Shining Explained "Besides Twilight and Cadence would have my head if I let you fight with us. Understand?" Spike looked a bit dejected but nodded "Good...Now lets get goin!" Shining and Flash rushed to combat the invaders while Spike went to help some civilians

End of Flashback

"I still say you should have tried to teleport Spike." Twilight chided

"How...I'm not exactly mage material Twilight." She rolled her eyes at the response

"Oh here we go..."

"I'm not really!" Spike Insisted

"You just wanted to join in the fight." Shining added

"True but I am not good at magic."

"Yet you can cast Fairy Meteor Crush." Trixie added

"That is a Special attack, not a spell." Spike Corrected

"Can we save the argument later" Infernox intervened "I want to know what happened."

"Well after most of the civilians were safe I began to make my way to the castle just as you guys told me to...but there was a problem" Spike said glaring at the one who had scolded after the invasion "Someone inside the castle erected a magical barrier and the only way through was to go through a secret passage" Spike finished his thought

"I had sent a message to anyone nearby to get Shining and Flash to the secret entrance" Cadence added "Spike just happened to be closer to them."

Flashback

Spike carried his sword through the city of Canterlot striking any changeling that got too close to him, down. “Where are they?” He muttered to himself until he found himself surrounded. “Well this is a fine pickle…” He said to himself. “I don’t suppose you guys will let me through if I said please would you?” The changelings laughed at him “Yeah didn’t think so”

“Perfect an easy target”

“Sir I think he’s Spike”

So he’s that marshmallow girl’s and blonde chick’s lover….this will make them take that barrier down for sure!” Those words made his blood boil. He said something that confused the changelings

(Play “We are War” by Miracle of Sound here)

“We are War” Spike spoke in a low voice glaring at the changelings in front of him. Then he repeated himself “We are War.” And he charged this time not caring if they lived or not…he rushed through them with bloodthirstiness of a whole village of Vikings. He seemed to have endless stamina as he continued. He kept his advance until he saw both Shining and Flash surrounded. “STRIKE FOR YOUR HONOR!” Spike yelled getting their attention.

“Spike?” Shining called

“Is that their blood?” Flash paled at how is brother in arms was covered in blood. Sure he has seen him angry but never go on full scale rampage at least not on this level.

“STRIKE FOR YOUR HONOR!!” Spike Repeated. This time both realized what he was doing and they smiled at each other and inhaled deeply and roared

“WE ARE WAR!!” They roared loudly causing some Changelings to recoil. For they have unleashed a Battle Guard Howling.

“Strife in the age of wolves” Spike began singing

“STIKE FOR YOU HONOR!” Shining yelled as he continued his assault moving forward towards the secret entrance that went under the castle with his comrades following closely.

“WE ARE WAR!!” Spike and Flash Yelled unleashing another Battle Guard Howling.

“Fight till the Fields are Full!!” Shining sang finishing the chorus “Good of you to join us brother but…What’s wrong?” Shining asked blocking a charging changeling with his shield. “I haven’t seen you this pissed since Garble threaten Applejack and Rarity.”

“No one threaten my girls. NO! ONE!” Spike snarled they pushed forward. “Nor will they speak ill of them in front of me!” Spike finished, slicing a changeling’s wings off. After while Flash resumed singing as they progressed.

“STIKE FOR YOUR HONOR!” Flash yelled this time Spike and Shining let out a roar

“WE ARE WAR!!”

“Strife in the age of Wolves.” Flash sang.

“STRIKE FOR YOUR HONOR!” Spike Yelled

“WE ARE WAR!” Flash and Shining roared back causing some changelings to fall unconscious due to the excess of sound.

“Fight till the Fields are full.” Spike Finished. As they got closer only to see a battalion worth of Changelings waiting for them. Only a few feet away they can only see one way to the secret passage. Through them. Not a second wasted on hesitation the three rushed into the heart of the battle. Fighting with all they had. This went on for an hour. “Don’t Give up now were almost there!”

“You know what to do.” Spike said with sinister smile. Both of his brothers looked at him amused

“No What?” Shining asked jokingly

“SHOW NO MERCY!!” After that declaration each one of them began fighting more viciously. They glanced at the remaining invaders that stood in their way. Then they rushed in, together, yelling the chorus for one of their songs as they decided to take on the remaining forces as the recovering changelings began to regain consciousness.

“WE ARE WAR!!!” The guys yelled as they violently removing each changeling that stood in their way. Sure enough a minute later were at the entrance of the passage way. Rushing in they made sure that changeling couldn’t followed them once the real entrance was crossed into. To the changelings it was like they had disappeared. “Now all we can do is keep moving…be careful though who knows if any made it through here.” Shining explained.

End of Flashback

“Yeah I saw that but why did those things just run off I would think they would stick around and fight?” Infernox asked. The boys smirked

“Funny you should ask.” Shining said “Most Equestrians have a more super powered form connected to a specific duel monster.” He began “Ours were a particular powerful series of warriors.” Infernox was curious.

“Who”

“You gonna find out soon.” Spike said ominously “Right now in fact.” He then added “So we followed the passage straight to the throne room.” Spike continued the story

“There we found someone we were not expecting to see again” Shining Added

Flashback

The boys arrived in the throne, the sight they saw made them froze with shock and disbelief. “No way” Shining said

“You told me that he’s”

“HE IS” Spike insisted

“Well, Well. Good to see you again…Spike the brave and Glorious” The intruder welcomed “I hope you remember me.”

“Sombra.” The three answered.

Interruption

“Who??” Infernox sounded confused by the name

“He was a tyrant who ruled over Crystal Empire” Shining Answered “We thought he was gone. Then he returns with this changeling army.”

“Needless to say we were shocked.”

Flashback

“Surprised to see me, boys?” Sombra snickered at the faces that guys had right now. The Twilight, Cadence, and the others were on the ground unconscious. “Good. It’s a nice face for you three…now then show me what you can do!” Sombra immediately fired an orb of dark energy. The three boys dispersed to dodge

“GO ALL OUT!!” Spike yelled throwing his sword aside and began to enter his empowered state feeling the power of Red Eyes Black Dragon. Shining and Flash nodded doing the same. Spike developed scales all over his body, his teeth became sharper, eyes became slits, and wings sprung from his back. Flash felt horns manifest on his head, hands became clawed, and wings on his back as well; in addition he was wearing some sort of robe. Shining seemed to conjure armor on his body and summoned a spear.

“Amusing!” Sombra laughed. Spike inhaled and blew out a large ball of fire! Sombra swatted the attack away. “Pathetic!” Sombra conjured a sword and engaged Shining. The two knight like warrior continued to clash against each other until Sombra landed slash on Shining’s chest dismissing the armor. Flash stuck Sombra with lightning “Tickles.” Sombra chuckled barely affected by the surprise attack.

“SHINING THIS ISN’T WORKING LETS TRY GEARFRIED!!!” Flash yelled. Shining nodded and concentrated.

“GEARFRIED!” The two shouted. Soon they were wearing armor similar to each other but Shining had a flame themed armor while Flash’s own was light themed. Spike on the other hand just kept firing balls of fire. None of them hitting their mark, thanks to Sombra simply redirecting them with no effort. Shining and Flash charge at the tyrant. “TAKE THIS!!” The two did a spinning slash attack, crossing through forming an slash on the target…only for it to have little effect

“Pathetic…It seems I was misinformed or I have become much stronger that I was before. I expected more…then Again this is the power of Dark Lucius! Your MERE GEARFRIED FORMS ARE NO MACH IN COMPARISON!!!” Sombra swiped the two older guys, sending them into a wall. Sombra turned to Spike, who now tried to charge him. “HA!” Sombra swatted the draconic powered younger man away.

“Why?” Spike muttered. “I need to stop him!” Spike growled

“So, do you want power?” a voice asked him mentally

“Yes…”

“Then why don’t you assume Gearfried form?”

“Cause mine is the Iron Knight. He can’t do much.”

“Well…It seems like you unware of the true power that dwells inside of it…that might be my mistake…when assuming Gearfried form yell out: RELEASE RESTRAINTS!” the Voice instructed. Spike got to his feet.

“GEARFRIED!” Spike found himself in the Iron Knight’s Armor “RELEASE RESTRAINTS!!” Spike Yelled loudly. The armor fell off, revealing his body underneath. His hair seemed to gotten longer, his muscles were much defined and toned, finally there was an aura of power surrounding his boy. “SWORDMASTER!!!!” Spike finished.

“Hmm, Interesting.” Sombra charged at Spike. However, Spike called his sword back to his hands. When the sword was in hands he simply raised it to the sky and Sombra was struck by…something. It was hard to describe, like some invisible force just attacked him. Whatever it was it gave Spike an opening, he closed the distance and slashed the tyrant a bunch of times.
“Die.” Spike said in much deeper voice than he had before. Bringing his sword down on Sombra he slew the tyrant once again.
End of Flash back

“Hmm…” Infernox hummed then nodded “Red eyes eh…perfect.” Shining looked at him suspiciously “Well boy, now that I know what I’m dealing with and everyone knows about me…I know what we need to train on….YOUR CONNECTION TO THE RED EYES TRIBE!” Infernox finished.
