This story is a sequel to Truth and Reconciliation

The world is complex, much more so than Artemis would like. Over the years it has changed, but after learning what happened to the wolves Artemis isn't sure how much he has changed. Caught between what he should do, what others want him to do, and unsure of what he wants to do; Artemis sets off on a journey to learn about himself and the world. During his journey he encounters various friends and adversaries that will influence his thinking and ultimately decide the fate of the Griffons who destroyed his country and subjects.

Gonna try for regular updates

Is this story based off of another story?

Yes it is the sequel to his first story. But if you mean if it had the same plot, I don't know what you mean
Hope this helps

8032917 What bunny said, its this is a sequel. Prequel should be in the description, check it out and let me know what you think

Well, looks like Artemis is a free wolf, sort of, now that he's off and out and about to wander Equestria again. Hopefully there aren't any skittish ponies that haven't heard the news about a wolf-king shacking up with their Princess and panicking about the big bad carnivore when they see him :trollestia:

Also, I feel like if he could resurrect some dead griffons to torment them, then why...couldn't...he...resurrect some wolves

Eh, Artemis comes off as an ass here. Really difficult to sympathise with him.

I agree, while I'm not trying to make the reader hate him, this was intended to show how different his relationships were with other characters one's less important. Shining Armor is only important to Artemis in so far as how his death would impact people he does care about. Yeah he was definitely an ass, what bothers a singular mortal is not high on his priority list. The goal was to show he has a tendency to be apathetic towards mortal problems, especially ones he would view as petty or caused by a lack of perspective that come from experience. Maybe this develops throughout the story as he interacts with different modern characters who have less direct importance to him, ultimately aiding him in deciding how to handle his vengeance debate.
Thanks for reading, always appreciate feedback

While not introduced in this story, possibly in the slight prequel in the works, Death is a force like Luna, Celestia, and Artemis. Even though they are immortal demi-gods with lots of freedom and power, they have rules they should respect in regards to magic especially within their domains. Death would likely be willing to give a few of the souls of the top griffons involved a break from damnation to let Artemis get answers or closure via torture. Bringing their soul back to talk and interact with them is not quite the same as resurrection. Resurrection is one of those rules, while Death is technically able to do it she understands that there are major ramifications and it never ends well so she just doesn't allow it. She may be willing to bend rules with the very recently deceased (think minutes), after that they gone.
Glad someone asked

For the title pattern? Not intentionally if it is haha
I have seen nothing of Star Trek so anything that seems like a reference is unintentional
Appreciate the comment and love man
