This story is a sequel to Truth and Reconciliation

The world is complex, much more so than Artemis would like. Over the years it has changed, but after learning what happened to the wolves Artemis isn't sure how much he has changed. Caught between what he should do, what others want him to do, and unsure of what he wants to do; Artemis sets off on a journey to learn about himself and the world. During his journey he encounters various friends and adversaries that will influence his thinking and ultimately decide the fate of the Griffons who destroyed his country and subjects.

Since his return things have only gotten more frustrating for Artemis. Unable to move forward, the ghosts of his past begin to haunt him, but before he can sort with his own problems he has to deal with the arrival of ten strange new creatures to Equestria. He can only hope that dealing with them will bring him closer to resolving his own problems.

After being betrayed and losing his best friend, his kingdom, and his purpose; Artemis has spent the last 1000 years imprisoned with only his thoughts for company. Freedom has given him a new but fleeting purpose, to confront the pony that that took advantage of his trust. However what will he do when he finds the cause of his suffering?
