796111879616217961752796218379634087969333 It's actually less about him not being a unicorn, and more about him being a stallion. And Twilight being really, really lesbian.
The original version of this scene would have gone like: "Okay, for the first test, have a vagina." "I don't have a vagina." "Well then I'm afraid you are disqualified and I'm incredibly lesbian. Shun the stallion. Shun. Shun."
The other trait the girls had in common was being unicorns. So I went with it. Either version would have been equally unfair to him. And that's the joke. (And just as an aside, as much as I dislike him, I don't usually go out of my way to Flash-bash.)
Are you sure you added that up right? This site says with three triple words and a bingo bonus it's only 1157 points. (Even if you applied the bingo before multiplying, which I'm pretty sure you don't, because it's not from the word itself, it's only 1557.)
Edit: Accounting for the double letters on the P and Z (the only letters that could land on them), it's 1508.
7963758 I think it's meant for the reader. But it's dubious in either case. Anyway, Sex in the next chapter tomorrow! Yay!
7963791 There were a lot of ways to calculate it, depending on the board, and existing tiles played. I knew that my (very smart) fans would undoubtedly nit-pick this point. But no matter how you slice it, even at 1,508 points, it's still a devastating, table-flipping, magical-battle-royale-to-the-death inducing play.
You're doing a great job ending the chapters on a high note. "Picture is a thousand words" and all that! And this chapter was just hilarious.
Actually, I don't think the first chapter's ending would've worked without the picture. Not only would you not have the benefit of a reference, but the time taken to explain the expressions, positions, and actions would've killed the joke. It may have cost a commission, but I think it was worth it. That ending may even be what boosted the fic's popularity onto the front page!
"OXYPHENBUTAZONE," she said. "That's not a real word!" Trixie said. "You made it up!" "All words are made up!" Moondancer said. Trixie stared off into space, her mind currently blown. "It's real." Sunset said, looking in the dictionary. "Oxyphenbutazone is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug." "1,508 points." Moondancer said. "Mother FUCKER!" Starlight flipped the table, sending tiles everywhere.
The only nitpick I have is that with Scrabble you only have 7 letters you can put down in 1 turn. Cause you only have 7 letters in your "hand" every turn. Thus, Moondancer can't put down Oxyphenbutazone cause (minus the 3 from hen) she needs 12 letters in her hoof. I can't see a way she could play this word with only 7 letters in the hoof. But with 8 letters it should be possible, first play but (or hen) and zone after that, the rest of the word.
As an avid (but not very good) Scrabble player, I am honour-bound to point out that oxyphenbutazone is 15 letters. An official Scrabble board is 13 tiles wide, (169 total squares if anypony cares) making it an impossible word and thus a small factual error. Also, if it was a legal word, applying the 50 point bonus AND all 3 triple word scores (sequentially), it would be worth 2,457 points. (819 points if you do x9 instead) 8071103 And proper nouns aren't allowed. Oxyphenbutazone isn't a proper noun, it's a chemical name. Legal in theory, if impossible in practice.
EDIT: First half of this comment rescinded. The new Scrabble board is, in fact, 15 tiles wide, making oxyphenbutazone a perfectly legitimate word. My bad. Also, the actual score would be 2,808 points (or 936 sequentially), since the P (3 points) and the Z (10 points) would both be on Double Letter Score boxes.
Dam you dancer now my head hurts

I wonder how many times Twilight is going to have to interrupt the Magic Battle Royale to the Death.
That ending... Table Flip!

The story had to end with them all ditching Twilight and dating amongst themselves

This is glorious and I need more of it in my life
Scrabble, a good way to show off your vocabulary to your friends before they losing them.
Dammit hasbro.
7964344 It's all strategy my friend. And I've been a fan of Inconvenient Trixie forever. It was a pleasure to see it made at all.
7965109 At least they didn't try to play Monopoly.

Oh god, that's where you show your evil business and real estate skills to your soon-to-be-ex friends.

Still want to try to get a weapon out of it.
7966185 scrabble and monopoly. The destroyer of many a friendship and family
Doesn't Sunset have school and a duty in the Other World.
Also where's Spike staying at and don't say Rarity's place cause he moved on and it would be totally awkward.
7967002 That is actually an excellent story idea that I will not be writing.

February vacation. Or she's graduated. Also, she's a horse.
Well, if I had to guess...

Starlight got the right idea!

and according to http://mentalfloss.com/article/50090/10-words-will-win-you-any-game-scrabble it's 1778 points.
Then again, I'm sure any 4-digit Scrabble play is automatic game-over.
Of course Moondancer would be as a good as Twilight
