While finishing preparations for this year's Nightmare Night party, Twilight finds Starlight has collapsed from exhaustion. The next day Starlight awakes to find herself trapped in a waking nightmare. Twilight and her friends now have to find Starlight, and discover just what happened to their newest friend. Can they learn the truth before it's too late, or will the nightmare last forever?

This story had an excellent sense of tone and atmosphere. It seemed to have flowed naturally between each scene, practically seamlessly. The lore and descriptions regarding the "creature" seemed very unique and could feel right at home in the show's canon. I especially loved the confrontation, and the reassurances that followed soon after. I thank you for writing, and allowing both us to read this tale.
7691936 Thanks for the comment. I'm very glad you enjoyed it. The confrontation was probably by favourite bit to write so I'm glad it was your favourite part. I have a little bit more in my head regarding the new creatures mentioned in this story, but I wasn't able to fit it in. Not without it seeming a bit too exposition-y. This was more just a fun story about a bad Nightmare Night which turned out a lot deeper than I first envisioned. The ending was completely different in my first draft too but I liked this much more. Anyway, thanks for the comment and the favourite, it means a lot.
So, what happens when Starlight gets hungry again? Will she eat more magic or will she starve? Overall great story! I did not see the end where Starlight is a bat coming
