Loved this story. My only complaint would be that your version of the bat ponies honestly seems a bit OP to me. I mean, they shouldn't just be superior to the pegasi in every single aspect. How about them having bad eyesight during the day or something like that, just to distinguish them a little bit better from the other pony races? Otherwise it's just bat ponies > pegasi. But nonetheless, great story. I really love these two characters

7624882 Of course everyone can write them as they please; it's just that the whole fight scene with a friggin former Shadowbolt not standing a chance against a bat pony recruit that just recently joined the guard seemed a bit unrealistic to me.
But with them carrying Luna's DNA it kinda makes sense, I guess.
I just feel that they are less interesting and dynamic as characters like this.
But anyway, keep up the great work and write whatever you feel works best
