What time is it?
...it's that time.

I need to stop checking for updates at work. Now I'll be distracted anticipating reading this afterwards...
I'm not entirely sure I trust what Applejack's saying. About Twilight doing them right.
Not that I think she's lying, no. It's that none of them, save perhaps Celestia, are anywhere close to making true decisions for themselves. Twilight is always in the back of their heads. Zecora and Rarity proved it's an addiction in their cases, not true love. That'll never change, unless Twilight erases any trace of her influence, and she doesn't want to do it. And that's going to hang over Twilight's head forever as well.
At this point, the best thing—other than just undoing what she did—might be to ask them to see if they can find somepony else to love. Even so, considering Twilight's mental state... if Rarity started obsessing over Trenderhoof now, and Trend wanted to hook up with Applejack like it happened in the show, would an angry Twilight then charm the guy as well so her slaves can be happy together? Would she seek out Blueblood and charm him into being a "better pony"? That's pretty much what she did to Trixie.
Contrary to popular belief, magic isn't the answer to everything.
Ponies are warm-blooded mammals, yes.
In other news, water is wet.
Elaborate.
Ah, right, right.
Surprise surprise.
Those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.
Teenage dragon Twilight.
Of course.
I think his brain crashed. Hang on. *reboots Spike.exe*
Oh dear...
*wince*
Nope.
Twilight, you're an intelligent pony. This is all building up. All these lies, it's eventually going to snowball and backfire. BADLY.
In a sense.
Oh Cadence, you have NO idea what kind of rabbit hole you've fallen into.
Agreed. The want-it-need-it spell feels like a very rough almost brute force spell.
Oh yeah, I don't remember if that was ever mentioned before. Or if it was, I missed it.
I like that logic.
Not impossible.
I hate it when that happens.
It really is things like this that really make this story shine like a diamond among the pieces of coal.
OK, that's friggin funny.
Big Mac, decked Celestia, in the face. Big Mac, decked CELESTIA in the face. I, this is going to take some time to process.
I honestly can't tell if you're kidding or not. Then again, I'd imagine that the fact that Big Mac has the balls to deck her in the face has probably raised her opinion of him by a notch or two.
Well, that's one heck of a good morning.
Hey Wintermist, can you help me with something? I just lost my sides, can you help me find them?
Nice feels chapter.
Your characterization does you credit.
A very good chapter, as always, WM.
I personally feel that Twilight should eventually be truly forthright with Cadance, and leave her unspoiled by the charm. Having Luna act as her conscience in regard to the charm's usage is certainly a step in the right direction, but at the end of the day Luna still is under Twilight's control.
Having a pony who is fully aware of the situation Twilight is in and yet outside her circle of influence would be more favorable to Twilight's well-being and conscience in the long run, and Cadance seems like the ideal candidate to be that pony. She helped raise Twilight during her younger years as her foalsitter, and cares for Twilight deeply. There's certainly the likely outcome that Cadance would take the news poorly at first, but she'd probably come around after brooding on it for a while.
Secondly, her husband is Shining Armor, Twilight's brother and an extremely talented abjuration spellcaster.
If anypony would be able to develop a means to defend against the refined charm Twilight crafted, it'd be him.All in all, I feel that Cadance and Shining Armor would be a good check to have in place while Twilight grows into her new role in Equestria.Of course, this all hinges on Twilight coming to these conclusions.
7543095 My recollection is that Twilight had a shield against the charm for the final battle with Celestia - the problem wasn't with blocking the spell from being cast, but rather that once the spell has been cast on somepony, the only way to block its effects is for someone else to cast it, replacing the previous charm. Unless Cadance is permanently shielded from it, Twilight could always just hit her with the charm while her defenses are down - and she could also create a version of the charm tuned to affect Cadance just like the original is tuned for Luna and Twilight's version is tuned for Celestia.
7543171
I do remember this, but that particular ward was designed to counteractCelestia'scharm. Twilight's charm is a modified version and is much more refined than the cruder charm Celestia used, so it's entirely possible that the spell she used to protect herself from Celestia's charm during her last stand could turn out to be ineffective against her own.Upon further review, I checked the chapter in which she developed that ward and Twilight did in fact test her modified charm on it, with similar results. My mistake.
In that case, I'd probably say it'd behoove Twilight (Get it? Behoove?! I slay myself) to provide the knowledge of how to cast this ward to Cadance, or whoever else she entrusts full disclosure to, as a gesture of good faith.
I like the little moments Twilight sees moments of temptation in front of Cadence. I can almost see little gears turning in her head wishing herself to want to charm her, but she knows she has to talk things out first. I think.
I also like how Celestia confesses, what I've and likely many others believed, that shes acted Machiavellian, even if reluctantly, in her reign as the Solar Princess.
Great update as usual.
7543171 7543189 While Twilight has invented a rune circle that can protect those inside from the charm, the problem with it is that it can't move, and has to be prepared ahead of time. Twilight found a way to have an inactive circle ready for her when she needed it most, but it's a very niche type of defence.
I loved this chapter despite the lack of any real naughty fun, I especially loved what Big Mac did to Celestia that took serious balls and showed the true character of him also it made me laugh a little in surprise. I also loved the opening sentence "and...magic?" I could just picture Twilight reading that aloud and it made me laugh as well. Seriously your work is the only stuff I read on here because it's just perfect every time, can't wait for the next chapter and I hope things turn out ok with her number one assistant.
7543015 Dude there is a spoiler button for a reason!!
I devoured this chapter and all its character development with relish. I'm already looking forward to the next installment.
Really fantastic progression, making sure the balance of dramatic tension doesn't tip too far over and giving proper attention to each part of the situation. I'm enjoying this sequel's progression much more than the original, for much the same reason as the ones Twilight expressed to Celestia: The 'game' of it had gotten hurtful and dark in a way it didn't need to, whereas here the flow of events still has urgency and complexity without destroying or discounting things entirely.
TL;DR Lovely chapter, really moving stuff.
As always, your writing has the most intelligent, character-driven storytelling I've seen in hypnofetish writing.
hm, I thought Twilight was going to overreact when cadence showed up and asked about what happened, or react without thinking and charm Cadence when she asked to see how she kept all the magic without crystalizing
That was fun, may I have another? Looking forward to more.
Keep up the good work. Deus tecum.
7543608
Granted, but wouldn't it make more sense to read the story before reading the comment section?
She collapsed onto a magically appearing fainting couch didn't she?
"Gracefully bedraggled" huh? I assume this is referring to when a woman still loks great despite her hair being a mess. Some women just look sexy with messy hair, I reckon Rarity could pull that off.
7544695 You are commenting on a story about anthropomorphic pastel horses having mind control sex. Sense need not apply.
Now go back and spoiler-tag.
Fantastic characterization and admirable amount of restraint.
Also, Big Mac. Unf.
Next time on FiMC: an old spell infused with new power. Moustaches for everypony!
7545566 F.I.M.C. — Fairly Incredible Moustache Celebration
Woah nelly.
Ah'm stunned at the lack of sex in this chapter.
Huh.
7547273 Well you need to eat your "veggies", before you can have your "dessert".
Or you'll ruin yourself.
7544996 Agreed!
Still not really convinced that Twi should be left with this much power but nice to see it discussed.
Glad to see that Twilight is at least attracted to Cadance a bit. I think Cadance 'should' know the truth, but there's no possible way that this can end well, because all the ponies that have given Twilight their blessing are under its spell. Cadance would see the spell for the stockholm syndrome that it actually is. Only a very twisted, morally ambigious one.
Still hoping for some sweet CadancexTwilight action, which you have yet to confirm or deny, but I'm really curious how Shining Armor would be dealt with. He's not going to happy with his sister banging his wife, and making Cadance not tell him, or using the charm to keep it hidden seems like a really bad way to deal with things. Can't really see Shining agreeing to it, unless they have a very open marriage :p
I'm not sure, but did Luna and Celestia sleep with Twilight in the pony pile? If they didn't, they totally should, because their loss of status when around Twilight is one of their major interests. Celestia wants to be treated as normal, and while Luna hasn't outright told us, I think she doesn't mind it either. Sleeping with all of them as 'another' one of Twilight's harem would serve that purpose.
Then again, I kinda do want to see Celestia being turned into some kind of slave to the harem, at least for a while as punishment. Someone for the other girls to also use, abuse, and the like. She'd enjoy it entirely too much to reject it.
Love Trixie's adorable reaction of grabbing tighter hold of Twilight's leg. Sorta like a puppy. The fact that she didn't assure Twilight of her concerns when she's releasing Trixie in a few months, might that mean that Trixie still wants to go?
Oh men, I wanted to see a charmed Cadance. I miss when Twilight played with her charmed friends while they were Awakened. Charmed ponies are so sexy XD
7544695
The man has a point.
7552196
Him or me?
7550999 Luna and Celestia weren't part of the pony pile. It was the seven others
7552362
They should be
7552529 They will do, eventually. Right now, it would be hard for the rest of Twilight's harem to sleep in the company of those two.
7552590
Aaaaah! Bad Twi!
It's a little late to go back into the closet at this point, isn't it?
But... but... friendship is magic
Literally the Princess of Magic. There's probably
An AppA Spell For That.I completely forgot about this story until I was scrolling through some porn and it hit me. Then I see it was complete so I went and looked though your stories to see you had this going on. I'm so happy I found this!! Give me more damn it!
Mind control spells are canon now.
i can't believe it took me this long to think to add this to my celestia gets dominated group....
7604892 SShhhhhh..... shh-shh-shh... don't worry about
thethings. Just let Wintermist do his writing, and enjoy the ride.Sweet mercy! Now I can't get the image of Big Mac giving Celestia a fat lip out of my mind. Stuff like this makes me want to see how he could put his hoof down on any other threat out there. Could you imagine Tirek limping off with a black eye? I could. Otherwise yet another emotional roller coaster Wintermist, you're skilled at this. It's a painful pill to swallow, admitting to your own sin and shame.
The wait for each new chapter is more nerve racking than the last time
This fic could really be used as a case study for utilitarianism and free will.
If Twilight's control makes everypony happy, then from a purely utilitarian standpoint, its the most correct anything every was.
If a pony willingly subjects themselves to their control, what right does anypony else have to tell them it's wrong?
If there is no free will in Equestria (as the numerous prophecies indicate), then how is Twilight's control a problem in anyway?
My personal answer:
If everypony respected everypony else as an independent actor that they should not unreasonably attempt to control, Sombra, Chrysalis, Starlight, Flim and Flam, etc would never have committed their crimes.
I'm just hoping that coronation-day involves shenanigans >.<
Yo dawg think we can get an update on the next chapter man. That be awsome
7646380 Sure! It's more story than smut, and it's gotten long enough that it's going to come out as two chapters. Currently at 20,000 words and haven't quite finished, but there's not much left to go. Then there'll be a couple of days of proofing and editing before it's done.
7646873
I don't want to sound demanding or anything but... can we please get a 24 hour "blog alert" or something when you're about to update?
I'd really like to make sure my snack and alcohol are at full readiness for such reading.
7647228 If that would help, sure!
Were did you get the image for the story?
7651400 It says at the bottom of the story description. It's a really lovely piece of art
