This seems like a lesson Twilight would've learned a long time ago, also she seems just a tad too conceited. It was Rainbow Dash's past that changed everything. Shouldn't she be reflecting on Rainbow Dash's importance or at least the nature of time travel in general?

“I… I don’t want to believe that all of Equestria could be ruined if I don’t succeed.”

She went through this already with the Crystal Empire. She has people and friends like Spike she can depend on.

Thank you for the feedback. You bring up a valid point. Had I seen that she already went through this with the Crystal Empire, things would have played out differently.

The crux of this fanfic was the juxtaposition of this lesson with Starlight Glimmer's character and how she would interpret it. Starlight Glimmer may be reformed but her narcissistic tendencies will remain, just oriented differently. I've been thinking about exploring this through fan fiction but unfortunately because of this relatively short season hiatus, there won't be much time to do that before season 6 begins and lays new pieces in front of us.
