The Little Siren

The three girls left the mall and were on their way to their home. Sonata was still staring at her new octopus. Aria was sometimes giving Dave quick looks. Adagio on the other hand was not paying attention to him. In fact, she wasn't paying to much attention to anything. She was still fighting with the thought that she and her sisters were defeated. Although she was not showing it, probably out of ambition, she felt shattered, like her pendent. Her magic, the only thing that she had left from her long gone home (beside her two companions) was now lost.

Now, she could no longer call herself a siren. She no longer saw anything in herself that would remind her of her original form anymore. Now, the only thing that Adagio could see in a mirror was a human.

She hated this form. To her it was a prison much worse than this world. A prison that was bounding her to stay on land and taking her aquatic affinity away. She could still swim of course but not in the way that she wanted. Now, she could no longer go deep underwater and swim for entire hours like in Equestria. Now, she was constantly felling crushed between the force of gravity and the ground beneath her new body parts called ''feet''.

She hated the fact that she lost her voice. It was not only helping her relax but it was also very useful especially during her first days of banishment. With it, they could get whatever they wanted from anyone. All they needed to do was sing. Without this power she might have never had a chance to even survive in this world. But that was also taken from her. Now she had to work side by side with her sisters to earn their bread. Work was a new concept to her. And she hated it.

But most of all, she hated the ponies. She hated the wizard that banished her here in the first place and she hated the Rainbooms that made her punishment more painful.

''What name do you think I should give him Aria?'' asked Sonata braking the silence.

''I don't know Sonata. It's your octopus not mine so I don't care!'' she replied with boredom.

"Now that I think about it, how am I going to give him a name if I don't know if he is a boy or a girl?"

Dave was listening to his new ''mistress" arguing over his name.

"God! What have I done to deserve this? Is genocide attempt really that bad!?" he said to himself.

The three and their octopus arrived at their home. It was a fairly large house painted in yellow and having a red roof. It even had a swimming pool in the back yard. A generous "gift" from the previous owner. It was a very wise move from them to claim their own property instead of staying at a hotel.

Interesting! From what I've heard they lived alone. How could three teenage girls have the money to buy a palace like this? thought Dave as they were getting closer to the house.

Adagio pulled a key out of her purse and unlocked the door. The moment she opened it Sonata rushed to her room.

"Do you think we should see that she doesn't hurt herself with that thing?" Aria asked.

"Aw, Aria! You're so kind to do that! Now, if you excuse me, I'l go watch some TV." replied Adagio while sitting on a couch and opening the TV.

Aria sighed.

She than walked upstairs to Sonata's room. In this time Sonata was filling up a fish tank.

"Hey Aria!" she started in her cheerful voice. "I finally figured out what name I should give him! I'm going to call him Bubblegum!"

"Weren't you saying that you couldn't name him because you can't tell if it is male or female?" Aria asked.

"Well, since I can't tell if it is a boy or a girl, I've decided to give it a name both a boys and girls can have!" explained Sonata proud of her decision.

"You are a exemplary pet owner!" Aria declared.

Sonata finished filling Dave's tank.

"Now, Aria, how are we going to open this thing?" asked Sonata while trying to open the snow globe, shaking Dave in the process.

"I don't know. How about a hammer."

Dave once again felt terrified. You know... Liberty is a pretty overrated concept! I think I can last here a little more! he thought.

Sonata left the room and started searching for a hammer in the house. Aria was looking at the artificial ornaments in the tank with some sort of nostalgia.

"It's been so long since I was living in the oceans of Equestria! I can still remember when I was sinking ships, hearing sailors imploring me to spare their existence, making them warship me and than drowning or eating them! Old times..." she declared while the memories were carrying her away.

Dave was listening to her "memories". At first he was somewhat theorizing that the girls might be insane but their overall behavior seemed normal, to normal for them to be mad. This was the second time she claimed to be a sea monster, a mermaid by the looks of the description. And this was the second time she mentioned this place called "Equestria". Dave did some research in geography at his time but never encountered a place called "Equestria". Ok, he did encountered a equitation club in Bucharest called Equestria but it couldn't be the same place (Unless the Romanians are secretly training an army of mermaids to try taking over the oceans.).

Sonata reentered the room holding a hammer in her hand. She than approached the snow globe and prepared to hit it with all her force.

"Wait! Are you mad! There are going to be glass bits allover the place!" rushed Aria to stop her. She than took the hammer from Sonata's hand. "You need to hit it gently!"

Saved by a woman's care for furniture... declared Dave.

She than started to hit the snow globe. The sound of the hammer hitting the glass was more than annoying for Dave but it was a acceptable price for liberty. The glass finally cracked and the hammer breached the glass prison.

Meanwhile, Adagio was sitting on her couch, watching a documentary.

"As you can see, the sardines stand no chance against the sailfish. This top predator is the fastest fish in the ocean, and his impressive tracking skills make it almost impossible to escape from."

Pfff! My flipper looks far better than his! And that nose... thought Adagio before hearing a braking sound from upstairs.

Hm... I should go see if they haven't hurt themselves with the glass! And the couch was so comfy... she thought before lifting her body from the couch with a sigh.

After braking the glass, Aria putted Dave in the tank. Sonata was watching as her octopus was sitting on a ornamental sunken ship.

Finally free! Or at least free-er considering that I'm in another tank. Now, all I need to do is wait until the idiots fall asleep, find a phone, contact my boys and I'l be back in business in no time! thought Dave while rubbing two of his tentacles one to another.

Meanwhile, Sonata was putting some small shrimp slices she had left from the previous pets into the aquarium

"Aww! Isn't it cute, Aria? It's small and squishy, just like Dagi's chest!" said Sonata.

Aria started laughing like she rarely laughed. After calming down a little she started talking trough her tears.

"Sonata, it's clear that Adagio's chest is as flat as your brain but how do you know it's squishy?" tried Aria to tease Sonata.

"Because I've touched it! Or more accurately it touched me." responded Sonata without seeing Aria's insult.

Aria froze.

"Wait... When did this happen and... Why?"

"Remember the first night we've spent in this world when we've slept at that hotel with the two beds?"

"Um... Yes, I remember. We've flipped the coin to see who takes the single person bed. Sonata... Is Adagio abusing you? If yes, than don't be afraid to tell me!" said Aria in a worried tone.

"What? Of course not silly! Adagio is awesome! What makes you think she would abuse me?"

"But... You've said... Wait! Are you two doing wired things while I'm not watching you?"

"Aria, what is wrong with you today? Maybe that movie we saw scared you. As I was saying, remember our first night in this world?"

"Yes. What about it?"

"Well, that night I couldn't really sleep well, but Adagio could, so she fell asleep before me. Meanwhile, you were sleeping in your bed, looking very satisfied by the fact that you got to sleep alone. Around midnight, Adagio started having a wired dream and she started hugging me."

"What was she dreaming about?"

"I dreamed about my mother." explained Adagio who was leaning against the room's open door.

Aria felt a little bit of Adagio's pain but she decided to jerk a little on the subject.

"Aww! Little Dagi is missing her momy? Would you like a hug from Aria to make you feel better?"

Without her noticing, Adagio casually came closer to Aria than, suddenly grabbed her throat.

"Remember that pot of water we have in the kitchen, the one that I keep in a steady, slow boil, next to the butter and limes?" she calmly asked her.

"Yeah?" replied Aria while gasping for air.

After seeing the fear she wanted, Adagio released Aria.

"Good! Because I'm hungry. Aria, would you please be a darling and cook us some salmon? Thank you!" she said in a sister tone than left the room.

Sonata than followed her.

"But Dagi you've promised me we were going to tell Aria to cook tacos!"

"And you've promised me you won't tell Aria about that!"

"But I've forgot!"

"Well, if you forget promises again, I'l force that octopus of yours down your throat!"

Than, all three girls went downstairs.

Sure! Blame your sister's octopus for her revealing secrets about your sleep habits! thought Dave who was now getting used to the three teenagers. Although... Maybe I should ask these three a few questions when I get the chance! There is something fishy about them.
