Now while the writing is alot better than alot other first-time writers, there's bits of this that I have a hard time dealing with:
When you climb Mount Everest, your really, REALLY high up in the atmosphere. That being, temperatures go beyond freezing and likewise it is required that you wear an oxygen mask 24/7 while your up at the peak. It's basically like being underwater, you take the thing off and you suffocate.
Logic being, I'm not positive they could even converse the way they are much less drink something

Alright, luckily you haven't written yourself into a wall. This is what I can recommend:
It actually possible to pitch a tent and spend the night on Mount Everest. Obviously however, you can't do it at the peak. But at around 3,000+ meters (10k ft) it's very much doable.
What I can say is, have them both at the peak, but describe in detail the whole experience of being up there a whole lot more. The sights, the sounds, the struggle and internal thought. Then, you can have them signal each other to descend down to an appropriate level and have them rest/talk/pitch a tent.
