Golden Scribe

I'm Golden Scribe. I'm the one who writes weird MLP crossovers. Also known as Ioanite over on Ao3.

T

A crossover with the TV show Forever.

For most of his 200-year existence, Dr. Henry Morgan has been writing in his journals about the things he's seen and learned about life and death from his various rebirths. Perhaps he shouldn't have been surprised when a talking alicorn princess visited him and said she wanted to discuss his immortality. The only question is, where do they go from there...?

Rated Teen on the grounds of there being several mentions of death/getting shot, but generally, this is supposed to be silly.

THIS STORY HAS TWO ENDINGS. I couldn't decide which one I liked better, so I went with both. The "played straight" ending is Chapter 3, the "absolute crack" ending is Chapter 4.

Neato. Me and my mother love that show, what a nice surprise to read for later!

--------------------

And later is now:

Well that was a pleasant read. Hell, might even show this ending to my mother, it was pretty damn humorous and worthily written.

Only minor gripe is that the point brought up with Adam didn't really seem to go anywhere noteworthy.
"We've been keeping an eye on you Henry, and now we're going to keep an eye on Adam."
"You say you didn't do much, if anything at all, when watching the former."
"And apparently we plan to do so with the latter."

Definately checking up your other stuff.

Alicorn's aren't exactly an MLP exclusive/original thing. The terms been around likewise with horses with horns/flying horses.

I've actually heard alicorn is the name of the material the supposed unicorn horn is made of. Now whether that is MLP exclusive I'm not so sure.

I'm so glad you liked it! I wasn't sure if anyone on here would even know this show existed, so finding three comments after less than 24 hours was a nice surprise.

Yeah, I'll admit I could have integrated Adam into both endings a little better. I didn't want to leave him out entirely, but the focus was supposed to be on Henry, so I threw him in to tie up loose ends, as it were.

In regards to your other comment about alicorns, I had gotten the impression that the word alicorn was around pre-MLP, but it still amused me when it cropped up in Forever, because I was happy for even the most coincidental of overlaps between two shows I enjoy.

I didn't think anyone else liked this show!

I love the show! Granted, I have a bias because I have a long-standing crush on actor Ioan Gruffudd (see my other fic on here, Faithful and Strong, for more proof), but it's an enjoyable, fluffy show that doesn't take itself too seriously. We need more shows like that, honestly.

Yeah, really. My family all gathers on the couch to watch it. It's our family show, besides Scorpion.
And, yes, he is a beautiful man.
