So, concerning the guesses for who bears the elements, is it just the CMC that are the new bearers? Or are other individuals valid guesses? Because if it is just CMC then my guesses are as follows:

Sadly no, although she will still be in the story. I did consider her, but in the end, it came down to how I personally believe the elements function as a symbol of harmony between the pony races. Lack of balance would throw them off kilter in my eyes. In my version, the only reason the Princesses could wield them was that Alicorns canonically have the abilities of all 3 races.
