Equestria has fallen to the Caribou and has been plunged into a dark age of sexual slavery and wickedness. However, through the selfish actions of a young caribou mage something arrives to change everything. Or rather, someone arrives.
If it's to do with the Crystal Heart, and we know that it's used by the Crystal Empire to protect it, and it's fueled by emotion...
Wow. The Caribou are some very, very, very horny bastards if they managed to infect the entire Goddamn country with an inexplicable amount of lust.
Though regarding that, what are the important elements of Fall of Equestria? Besides the anthro bit. And the collars. And the impossible victory scenario. Because I'd actually like to start working on this soon... got some real good ideas, strangah!
There's not really that many from what I can see, not much is explained in depth. Also, i'm not using the Crystal Heart idea, the colour of the mage's eyes in the dungeon should be a hint to how they obtained the mind control.
It's set after the Crystal Empire returns and is liberated, the former ruler having a history of mind control and slavery who may or may not have survived the Crystal Heart and may or may not have been weakened and captured by the Caribou to be used as a weapon...
Ah, but my friend, speculation is a writer's best friend. When the original story failed to explain anything in detail, it just means you can do whatever the fuck you want.
It also inspires me quite a bit. Hoho, this'll be fun...
Oh, and apologies, I haven't really read your story yet. I've mostly been shooting the breeze here, but I'll dig into it eventually. Maybe tonight?
You can read it whenever you want, I don't really mind. Also I think the comments section kind of outshines the actual fic with all the sword vs guns debates.
Yeah, that was pretty spectacular, wasn't it? Loved the maniacal backpedal at the end.
But I'm sure the story is excellent in either case. Have faith in your writing. And hey! Debates can be hilarious. Perhaps it's an idea in case your fic ever digs itself out of the dark caves and finds itself in a peaceful, humerous moment?
4143925 I actually did a lot of in-depth research for my old story idea; which is actually the main reason I hate the verse. At first, it was a passing interest in writing a story. After the research, I genuinely loathed it. Got nothing against it's fans, or it's creators, but I wouldn't mind if the verse got a C&D.
Feel free to ask me any questions you have. There's a good chance that I may be able to answer them.
This is sooooooo fucking satisfying. You should probably try and find a pre-reader, since there's a lot of grammar issues like comma splices, incorrect words, and a few cases of tense confusion. But even with the errors, seeing the disgusting world of Fall of Equestria getting some much-deserved justice is so goddamn satisfying that I loved every second of it.
I think I understand a few things about the verse, but these are questions that are pretty critical to my story idea.
1. Does Equestria have a standing army? 2. Are there any Caribou left in Equestria? 3. How long was it since the incursion, according to canon? I can take it further if need be, but it's always nice to have a timeline. 4. Status of the Princesses? 5. Status of the Element Bearers? 6. Is there a current 'ruler' of Equestria? 7. Are ponies commonly sold? 8. Are mares the only ones treated so badly, or are stallions given collars as well? 9. How much of this from these questions can I bullshit, and still make some manner of sense?
All of these questions relate in some way to my story idea. I'm aware of the collars and what they represent, but yeah.
But even with the errors, seeing the disgusting world of Fall of Equestria getting some much-deserved justice is so goddamn satisfying that I loved every second of it.
This is exactly my opinion as well. I couldn't have phrased it better myself.
Yes. Even mares are allowed to join, so long as they are "good" mares. The mares are not allowed real weapons, however. They're given sex-themed "weapons", and are only allowed to guard other mares. (Celestia's and Luna's personal guards are mares.)
2. Are there any Caribou left in Equestria?
Yes. Though, there are even fewer caribou males than stallions. As far as I know, there is a gender disparity in the FoEverse. (Roughly one stallion to five mares.)
3. How long was it since the incursion, according to canon? I can take it further if need be, but it's always nice to have a timeline.
Eight months, if I remember correctly.
4. Status of the Princesses?
Both personal slaves of the Caribou King. Only he is allowed to use them. Celestia is a red collar, Luna is a black collar.
5. Status of the Element Bearers?
Twilight is the personal property of Spike, who has been given a governmental position in charge of Ponyville. She's a Red Collar.
Applejack is the property of Big Mac. Together, they run the "Dirt Pony Farm"; a place where mares are sent to be punished, if they misbehave. It is unlikely that Mac has sex with his sister, as the farm utilizes "Fuck Bucking", where they tie mares to the trees, and fuck them until the fruit falls out. She's a Black Collar.
EDIT: There has been a canon fanfic covering Big Mac and Applejack's relationship. Check the official Fall of Equestria group, if you want to find it.
Fluttershy is property of an animal farm in some nondescript part of Equestria. She is not collared, as she is well known for being fully compliant and completely harmless.
Rarity is state property, only usable by state sanctioned stallions and bulls. She still runs Carousel Boutique; though she no longer owns it, as mares are not allowed to own property. She's a Red Collar.
Rainbow Dash is also state property, though her rebellious nature often makes her subject to embarrassing punishments. She is often seen around Ponyville, hauling heavy loads on her hands and knees. She's a Black collar.
Pinkie Pie is property of a dairy farm, as her dual personalities make her easier to milk. Whenever Pinkie passes out from exhaustion, Pinkamina wakes up in her place, cursing and screaming, but fully bound and harmless. She has a unique cowbell red collar to keep her from wandering.
6. Is there a current 'ruler' of Equestria?
Dainn, King of the Caribou. He rules in Canterlot, where the horns of the old princesses are kept as a trophy on his throne. In unknown circumstances, he convinced Discord to side with the caribou. Discord granted Dainn the status of 'alicaribou', and a warhammer powered with chaos magic. Using these powers, he defeated Princess Celestia in single combat.
7. Are ponies commonly sold?
Yes. The only way to own a mare is by buying one, though stallions who were married before the fall were allowed to keep their wives.
8. Are mares the only ones treated so badly, or are stallions given collars as well?
Stallions are not collared, but any who actively oppose the "New Regime" are captured. As far as I remember, their fate hasn't been covered yet. EDIT: Actually, it has. Stallions who are captured are magically transformed into mares, and treated as any mare would be.
9. How much of this from these questions can I bullshit, and still make some manner of sense?
4144479 It should also be noted, the fates of the other nations.
The griffons were conquered, much in the same way as the ponies were.
The zebras were able to stop an open assault, though eventually complied to the caribou. Though Dainn holds no real power in their country, the zebra still have to pay tribute annually. Their tribute is a large portion of gold, and two volunteer zebra mares for temporary use.
The diamond dogs were somehow also influenced by the Crystal Cock. (Yes, that's seriously it's new name.) They prove to be a large nuisance to the caribou, raiding pony settlements, and kidnapping ponies for slaves. Life as a diamond dog slave is not very different to life as a caribou slave.
The minotaurs have yet to be covered. If you're looking for a canon species likely to fight back, it's them.
Stallions are not collared, but any who managed to resist the Crystal Cock's influence were captured. Their fate has never been explained.
I believe this was recently elaborated upon—males who act as protestors, insurrectionists, or any other stallion (or any male who considered part of the caribou's domain, and probably some outside of their domain who are considered to be... dangerous) who is outspoken against the caribou's agenda are promptly captured and forced to undergo sexual reassignment via magic into a mare, to be made a public example of. Speaking out against the caribou's way of life is not permitted.
Intriguing... well, that gives me a villain, an armed force to avoid, three targets to find across the country, and loads of worldbuilding to do. Fantastic. Hell, this may as well be a standalone story at this point.
That'd also be interesting and reduce the cries of my character being a one-man army (was gonna go with a sneaky intel-gathering approach anyway), so negotiations may happen.
Also, seriously? Crystal... Cock? Wow. No wonder FoE is considered fap material. That's just... wow.
I'll keep your name in mind next time I want an intellectual debate on materials science at my next birthday party.
Also, that punishment idea gives me loads of ponies who would easily join the main character's cause. Shit, I could literally have a world-ending war by the end of the story if I play my cards right!
4144747 Oh, societal collapse is almost unavoidable. Twilight, Cadance, and Celestia are all red collars. They all submitted to the caribou. The public wouldn't be able to trust them, after that. Luna is the only black collar among them, but there's a rumor about her.
Given that it hasn't been confirmed, and the fact that Luna is best princess, I don't think it did happen. However, there is a rumor that she may have been permanently brain damaged by a sexual torture device. If that's true, this would leave absolutely no government in charge of Equestria.
With the most powerful and wealthy country on the planet gone, a power vacuum would occur, as well as the collapse of the worldwide economy. Wars and poverty would likely destabilize all civilization on the planet.
Also, that punishment idea gives me loads of ponies who would easily join the main character's cause. Shit, I could literally have a world-ending war by the end of the story if I play my cards right!
Well, in the comments under the image that confirmed this, Poprocks said that "Shining Armor I know was affected by Cadance and the corrupted crystal heart, along with others around him influencing his decision. most males are affected the same way, there are just a handful who are truly and mysteriously resistant to the effects resistant to the effects". Later, non_creepy_nickname reinforced that, saying "What Poprocks said is what happened. This is just an example of an extreme edge-case where the typical things don’t work." So apparently it's a rare occurrence for stallions (apparently, males in general) to be resistant to its effects.
Now, if your main character were somehow able to disrupt the effects of the "Crystal Cock" even slightly, the number of those willing to question, doubt, and dissent the methods of the caribou would certain begin to rise.
Wars and poverty would likely end all civilization on the planet.
More likely, it would regress to a much earlier phase of societal development, similar to what happened immediately following the decline of the Roman Empire. Certainly very bad, but the world can recover from it given time.
How has this fucker not been derided as obvious wish fulfillment and a Gary Stu? How has this universe become as popular as it has?
4144854 They're all undeniably Stus. Faster than pegasi, more magically powerful than unicorns, and more physically strong than earth ponies. Every single caribou is a walking wall of stupid story decisions. Except for the females; who are all apparently magicless, weaker than anything, and stupid to boot.
I am not going to use the Crystal Heart for the mind control, I have an idea which I think makes sense.
After his defeat in the Crystal Empire (who are still holding out against the Caribou, the Caribou King is leading the army) Sombra was not killed but instead banished to an area of wasteland behind the Zebra Nations. He was changed into something (not going to reveal what just yet) that rendered him unable to use his powers of mind control/shadow magic. Instead he was found by the Caribou, taken to the King, enslaved and the King uses him to power spells to control and affect the wider population. His mages can tap into this, hence the Caribou mage's eyes in the dungeon.
I think it makes far more sense than a 'Crystal Cock'.
Aye. The main goal of the character (named Reaper, for Grim Reaper, God of Death. Commence claims of me using an even worse Gary Stu to fight Gary Stus) is simply to save the lives of those close to him. Those are Luna, Celestia, and the Element Bearers, who all played key roles in his adventures in Equestria. Given this particular story is taking place after the first one (A Reaper's Travels), Twilight's also going to have a very, very powerful role amongst the Gods, making her practically family to Reaper.
Luna's also family to Reaper. So is Celestia, despite her being replaced by Twilight. The Element Bearers are also all pretty important to the country. I've also got a concept in place that may or may not make the entire Fall of Equestria universe effectively 'fake', and just the creation of a minor God, which can be destroyed by eliminating a lynch pin holding the whole world together. Kill them, the universe goes back to normal, everybody's happy. Sounds like a bit of a cop-out though.
Then again, with the war scenario, the whole world might recede. And with my idea, the country's gonna be ripped apart by some gigantic monster. Loads of dangerous scenarios that'd have wide-spread effects.
Oh, and concerning Luna, I did have an idea, since you mentioned possible brain damage. Basically, the thing that would throw Reaper over the edge and drive him mad is Luna being broken and becoming a purple, basically so hungry for sex that she's lost herself. If there's one situation that he's always, always wanted to avoid, and has been lucky to over billions of years, is the total loss of one of his family, and right now, he's at risk of losing three family members.
Pretty much they're not too keen on mass-teleporting a whole bunch of troops to an unknown universe. For instance, they homed into the coordinates of the signal that Straken sent (hence his arrival in the library) and if 5,000 troops appeared there at once...
I know this is a bad way to do it, but the ISA is one of the few departments to do stuff like this, mainly because no-one else is crazy enough to teleport troops into a unknown universe. That's why they tend to send highly-trained individuals, that way if something goes wrong you only lose one soldier instead of hundreds.
The Caribou and their allies need a good flank kicking , and so far this story is delivering it in the best way. Getting destroyed by a female who shows no quarter , is technologically superior, is battle hardened and experienced , but also mentally stronger than all of the mares and stallions on Equus. Let's not forget her cohort in destruction , Orthodox.
4145684 Slavery, rape, demeaning public rape, mind-break, mind control, mutilations including but not limited to: mandatory horn removal, mandatory feather plucking, forced gender swapping, paralysis, and lobotomization.
4146185 Unless you're into that kinda stuff, I'd say avoid it. It's only quality feature is the sex, and if you don't like that kind of sex, there's nothing of value.
4146212 Yeah. The stuff in this story is actually a little tame, in comparison to the actual source material. Even just some of the background propaganda signs are darker than that breakfast scene.
Also, I'm pretty sure everyone is on the UIP's side. Even any fans of the Fallverse who found this story. From what I gathered in the comments of various stories and pictures, even they think the caribou are disgusting. They just also happen to get off to it.
“I came here to kick ass and chew bubble-gum,” he spoke in a heavy voice.
“And I never had any bubble-gum to begin with.”
Well I do have bublegum, so I guess I'll have to do both.
I love revenge stories that take terrible AU stories and kick them in the balls. I haven't read this Fall of Equestria one, but it sounds exceptionally terrible self fulfillment.
4145684 It's all commissioned by someone with a weak imagination and no skill in weaving a good story. The most rudimentary concepts could be good. The actual products are mostly crap the way the newer Star Wars trilogy was mostly crap: too much freedom and not enough critical assessment from the director.
Oh I know that, you try finding a better piece of cover art for a fic like this then a dead Caribou-lookalike with the tongue hanging out. 4147271
Relax, there's going to be plenty of Pew-Pew. There's entire countries filled with Caribou, it's going to end messily.
4148579 The Caribou need some chance. Plus Duke would probably spend half the time slipping money into the collars or something like that. 4148579
Also it is pretty much pointless BDSM clop. People don't like seeing their ponies (Even anthro) subjected to that I guess. Honestly I don't really care, it's just a fanfic universe after all but I heard about these Caribou and thought they'd make a nice change from the standard Griffon/Diamond Dog/Dragon/Minotaur foes.
Also they are so depraved that they make the ISA look like heroes, and that scares me.
Also it is pretty much pointless BDSM clop. People don't like seeing their ponies (Even anthro) subjected to that I guess.
I love BDSM, but I'm not a big fan of the misogyny. I do like shaming though and you'd be surprised to hear that some of my generic personal fantasies fall along the same lines as FoE. I think that's the only reason people do like it. It follows what I'd consider a fairly common rape/power fantasy structure.
The problem is it's not really that good and the commissioner doesn't have any concept for how to make it good. There's a lot that could be done with it, but the way it is turned out to be mostly shit.
That said, I agree it has potential. And the caribou are so over the top, it's hard not to use them as villains. But it pisses me off for so many reasons.
4135147

I'm going for the Hollywood 'Stick-to-the-rules White Cop/Do-what-he-wants Ethnic Cop' pairing.
The dedicated, commanding and efficant Colonel paired with the Arrogent, irresponsable and violent ISA agent.
Plus I really wanted him to just rob a nightclub.

Yeah, well I have an idea for Dante, he isn't going to like it.
He's not going to get raped, though.
But man, I have made Dante to be the Swiss Army knife of the fucking multiverse, and he's about to shoot these fuckers out of the sky.
With a nanosuit, and boobs. He was accidentally R63'd.
He hates Gary Stu's as well, especially really douchebaggy ones. And being turned into a female has made him angry.
It's not going to be anthro, though. I do not touch anthro, I avoid writing it like the plague.

Just looooads of stuff, seriously.
Hey I'm new to fimfiction so I'm curious could someone briefly explain fall of equestrian and why it's widely hated
Why can't they just deploy nore soldiers the way the deployed "dragon"
4145717
i should probably adress that.
4145871 This is a empire in SPEHSS i'm sure they can do one at a time.
4146104
Imagine the energy cost though. You are teleporting someone to an alternate universe, that isn't cheap.
4146122 Like I said they are a multiplanetary empire if they want, they can use entire planets a power generator.
4145684
The Caribous are an extreme Gary Stu race, refer to:
4144557
For their Gary Stuness.
4146163
ah ok. Yeah I looked up the story of it and it just doesnt seem plausible like at all.
4145684
Slavery, rape, demeaning public rape, mind-break, mind control, mutilations including but not limited to: mandatory horn removal, mandatory feather plucking, forced gender swapping, paralysis, and lobotomization.
4146179
So a pass then
4146185
Unless you're into that kinda stuff, I'd say avoid it. It's only quality feature is the sex, and if you don't like that kind of sex, there's nothing of value.
4146199
yeah as soon as i saw rape I went no. So now that I know the context that this story is based off of Im rooting for the UIP
4146212
Yeah.
4146247
takes all kinds I guess
Well I do have bublegum, so I guess I'll have to do both.
I love revenge stories that take terrible AU stories and kick them in the balls. I haven't read this Fall of Equestria one, but it sounds exceptionally terrible self fulfillment.
Potato lasers.
ummm.....that's a moose (cover art)...not a Caribou.
I don't usually comment on stories but this is pretty good. I'm glad to see a good fall of equestria rebellion fic.
Duke Nukem to the rescue?
4145684
It's all commissioned by someone with a weak imagination and no skill in weaving a good story. The most rudimentary concepts could be good. The actual products are mostly crap the way the newer Star Wars trilogy was mostly crap: too much freedom and not enough critical assessment from the director.
4147398
Oh I know that, you try finding a better piece of cover art for a fic like this then a dead Caribou-lookalike with the tongue hanging out.
4147271
Relax, there's going to be plenty of Pew-Pew.
There's entire countries filled with Caribou, it's going to end messily.
4148579
The Caribou need some chance.
4149026
