Oooh shit Son. This is either going to be an amazing twist suprise, or things are about to get real bad real fast.
Either way I am beyond excited to see where the story goes from here.
From the way the conversation was preceding, I was sure Applejack was going to blow her facade in front of everyone with Ivangir.
God damn it Twilight! Just as you start to give me a little hope...!
Calling it, Mac is getting switched.
I keep thinking about what Dash said to Applejack. About how they were all fakes who had replaced her friends, because her friends would never surrender like they have.
Then I consider Twilight. There is nothing here of Twilight other than the physical resemblance.
This is not Twilight. Oh, maybe it's her body, but the mind inside is not Twilight. Real world implication. The Trauma has caused Twilight's personality to shatter, she's retreated deep into her mind and left behind a clockwork doll that won't be hurt by what is going on.
But this is a story set in a magical world. The above might still have happened, but it also possible that Twilight did this on purpose. That the real Twilight is elsewhere, deep in her mind, thinking, planning, calculating. Or at least I hope so. Even if we go with the shattered personality, that means the real Twilight is there, somewhere. And maybe at the right time, in the right circumstances, she will come out.
Even if she, or the others, fail, I would like to think that somewhere inside them there are the remains of the ponies who faced insurmountable odds, and succeeded, who will at least try to do something.
I was sad that Mac stopped Ivangir. I wanted to see AJ really get the snot beaten out of her. I wanted to see her mind break. Then again, I'm about as sadistic as Ivangir is.
I can't wait to see what that last bit with shinning armor is gonna build up to.
6639797 I hope so. I like to think that Equestria has a future, that RD and AJ can make one final hurrah. I know that NCN is fixated on keeping this going as long a possible, and as badly for them…. Now that I'm back from deployment, I can continue on my fic. Spoiler alert: lead will fly.
6639797 This makes so much sense. I imagine the same is what Celestia did and she and Twilight are working together. I have a hard time believing she'd just give up on Equestria so easily, give up on all her subjects and the Elements of Harmony as well as her sister. More insight on this would be interesting, if this what I think they are doing while they wait for the right time to strike back.

Thank you for your comment. If I can, I would like to explain a bit about the Crystal Heart's part in FoE, as well as some of the assumptions you have about how stallions and mares are corrupted in the series.
First off, while it is a form of the caribou's magic that is influencing the stallions, it has always only be through an alteration of the Crystal Heart's power. A caribou has no ability to make a stallion or a mare a nymphomaniac without the assistance of the item, and as you know there are some that are immune to even that. Also, in canon the amount of mares actually affected by the heart's power is slim, and most red collars are made that way through other means that are unrelated to it, usually being broken through torture, somehow convinced that it is better to submit, being a outright slut to begin with, or in the case of mares like AJ they are faking their collars just under the assumption that it is easier that way.
This is also not a "new" reasoning as to why the stallions are converted. This has always been the case, at least as long as the stories have been around. If you go read "Twilight Falls" you can see how the heart was used in a grander scale to effect everyone, and even in "Fall of Cadence" it eludes to how the heart was used to effect one of the major characters.
That out of the way, the assumption that the "cure" is known about is only partially true. For the sake of narration, the Crystal Heart is mentioned directly so the readers know what is effecting the stallions in case the reader hasn't read the other stories, but this information isn't widely known about. Those who had more direct interactions to the events involving it know about it and it's power, but the general populace knows less about it, only knowing that the caribou used some sort of "cure" that fixed the stallions.
I hope that clears up most of your concerns about the Crystal Heart, and thank you again for commenting. Hope to see ya soon
Oh boy, well guess we’re about to find out if Shining Armor is friend or foe.
