Jeez... Celestia gets put in a situation where even the best answers were awful ones, and can't justify it to the twins at the end of it all. Doesn't help that she spent their childhoods neglecting them, and not even trying to help them with their dragon heritage, though.
She should have led that she regrets her actions. Not that she wouldn't have done it again, but that she regretted that they took place. Doesn't seem like she didn't have any other options, though, it's just that it was to let the dragons do whatever they wanted, and take whatever shit they laid to her when she was not endorsing the dragon attacks, or do what she did. Coming in to talk would probably not result in a good conclusion, but you know... at least she could have tried.
Oh yeah, and the huge terrible fight and the worst cliffhanger of the entire fic so far.
I actually kinda wanted to hear Blueblood's crazed, self-centered rants.
woah...
ohhhhh sshhhiiiit and the RAGE storm comeith
Once again, history is repeating itself....Selfish, short-sighted ideals that led to countless unnecessary deaths and destruction. First it was the Nightmare Rebellion which ultimately resulted in Celestia banishing her own sister to the moon. Who knows how many creatures were slaughtered in those wars. And it is all is ultimately because the ruler of the sun is truly fearful of her sister.
Then, apparently as a result of Luna's banishment, Celestia want to consolidate peace for her new young nation, and it's only fitting that she's a former dragon-slayer because of her fear of the dragons, and her lover at the time (her constant supply of dick and sex when needed, can't help it due to the pervert in mind) will still look and exterminate dragons despite the fact that the ruler officially is attempting to foster a truce.
Long story short: Dragons completely destroy a pony settlement and humiliate Celestia, Celestia turns around and returns the favor two-fold; single handedly eliminated the Dragon clan and stole a dragon egg......which ultimately turns into Spike and Quill Dragul....and yes, it has been confirmed that Celestia is the one resposible for the twin's parents deaths.
And now. decades later, Spike and Quill know the truth. Naturally they don't want anything more to do with Celestia, or ponies in general (at least on Quill's side, Spike still has a soft side for helping out, due to taking care of that frail filly)
Ironically, Spike and Quill are now in the middle of an intense battle where they possibly are the linchpin that their latent powers (inherited from their now-discovered-deceased [and murdered, if you can see it that way] possibly royal parents) may be the thing that can save Equestria from being blown off the face of the planet.
I have to have MORE!!!!!!!
And it seems that the more that the twins attempt to clean themselves from Equestria forever, the more that their existences are more entwined with Equestria and her survival.
Finally, it seems that Spike's mortally wounded. Seriously, he better survive. He's finally gotten an idea of his purpose in life, not to mention that he has yet to make love to his new mate in Cyclone ( I know, I know.....get over it). It would really suck if after all this shit with living with ponies for his entire life, the busts in his forays with romance (Rarity, Sweetie Belle, Scootaloo), and his issue with ghost heart, as well as finding a real family that loves him as well as a female dragoness that genuinely loves him back, that when he actually tries to be a hero, he gets killed.
Damn.
The chapter was really good, tho my only...uhm, not regret really, but rather...discomfort is how you handled the whole "get over the rage" part with the twins. it was too fast and unnatural. too forced.
5634251 Your pretty much right on all accounts. And if I'm reading the flow correctly than Spike, Quill, or both of them will be getting their Elements in the next chapter. That is going to be real awkward, seeing how Celestia is going to try convince them to keep the peace in Equestria. They'll probably do but will constantly give Celestia the middle finger. I can just imagine what Twilight's reaction will be in the story.
I hatte this cliffhanger update soon

I'm looking forward to that as well....not surprisingly, I can see RD having some major issues---she's the embodiment of LOYALTY, always standing by her friends. Probably why she joined up into the ranks. But at the same time, I could possibly see some support for Spike and Quill--Spike because he likes pranks, Quill because she's a flyer---which would completely warp her ideas of Celestia after discovering the link between Celestia and the twins' true orgins.
There is gonna be a crisis of confidence for Twilight Sparkle as well. She is Celestia's protege' after all, as well as the guardian of Spike and Quill; how will she react when she knows that her mentor is responsible for Spike and Quill being in Equestria in the first place and that her mentor is the one that took their parents' lives, in a blast of rage no less???
5636396 I would say she would react with fainting, a case of denial for a bit, and from there either acceptance or a long cold shoulder.
Man I love this story so much bat gosh dangit for these flubin cliffhangers well keep up the great wotk and cant wait till you post again (Hope it is like maybe some time next week like Monday *wink* *wink *)
Demur signing off
JESUS CHRIST THIS CHAPTER!!!!!
~The Rift Walker
Your too goddamn good at manipulating my emotions, first I was pissed at Spike and Quill for overreacting at Celestia, then you yank my feel the other way at the end. I was so angry at the person who impaled Spike that I sat up too fast and sprained my back. I am now bedridden for the moment, Cheers Sidain.

On a more serious note, has anyone thought about Celestia's side? Yes, she killed their parents, but did everyone forget so quickly what their parents were doing? Killing hundreds of innocent ponies and burning down a town.

Only thing I want to note is that you say "decades later" in regards to Spike and Quill learning the truth about their parents. Look back to where it talks about when Celestia actually fought the dragon clan.

Celestia's battle with the dragons was centuries ago, yes, up to and including when she acquired the eggs that would ultimately hatch into the twins. Considering that is has been eighteen years since they were first hatched by Twilight's outburt, about two decades is technically correct.
I can see your view though. The twins didn't know about this until just now, whereas Celestia knew about the truth and kept that from Spike and Quill until the competition, and before, it was considered a secret for centuries.
