TheDerpGirlLives

Hello, I am Derp Girl. I like a lot of stuff, like cartoons and ponies and kitties and gumballs and quarter machines and muffins... Heh, muffins...

Before Sunset Shimmer stole Princess Twilight's crown and forced an investigation in another dimension to take place, a meeting was scheduled. Twilight has recorded her research and findings on this new world and intends to allow Celestia to have them copied and published to give ponies access to information on the astonishing other side of the mirror in the palace of the Crystal Empire. As she is making her way back to the crystalline kingdom, she receives word via Spike that Discord wants to visit Fluttershy when they arrive.

After a reunion and a discussion between Celestia and Twilight, Luna joins them. She reveals that that very day is the last day to open the portal before it closes for another thirty moons and asks Twilight if she'd like to. Twilight debates the offer, but believes she cannot accept, not now.

In curiosity, Discord takes her research book and flips through the pages. He is intrigued by what he reads and wants to investigate, assuming he can go back anytime. Twilight tries to stop him, but is too late. Discord leaves at the last second, and the portal closes temporarily. Hopefully, he will figure out how to get home.

Oh boy.

This chapter has some definite flaws, but I can also glimpse something behind those flaws, let's call it 'promise'.

First off, you never really set the scene, so I'm left floundering as to what exactly is happening.

Secondly, the chapter isn't paced very well, and it really rushes to the 'conclusion'.

Third is the description, which reads like a summary of what one would think to be the first chapter, when it should be a quick synopsis of the premise.

Lastly is the length of the chapter, logically the first chapter should set up the story, but this chapter ends not just suddenly, but what seems to be well before the events described in the description.

If you want me to expand upon or explain any of these points, you have but to ask.

Itsa start of story...and i already like it :pinkiehappy:
