Competition: The Everfree is on Fire: A Near Death Experience.

The forest near Fluttershy's cottage has caught fire. Attempting to rescue trapped animals leaves her in the world between the living and the dead, guided by a Reaper, an undead pony charged with guiding the spirits of the dead. A plot has been set in motion; Can Fluttershy and her guide stop it before her soul is claimed?

OH MY GOODNESS. At first I was like, "The fire was only part of the story... it isn't following the prompt." Then I was like "DEEPER MEANING!" Loved it! Just a few errors... for example, you capitalize the first letter after semi-colons. No need. And watch for inconsistencies with capitalization in names/titles. All in all though, really interesting, though I would've liked a wee bit more expansion.
