First-person account of Thunderlane trying to escape a Griffin Kingdom-held fortress north of the Crystal Empire with four other ponies. This takes place during a hypothetical Cold War between the Griffins and Ponies, and is part of a much larger fanfic I'm working on.
**The encounter between Thunderlane and Bendl the Griffin is based on a real event that happened in WWII where a German fighter pilot escorted an injured American Bomber out of enemy territory**

Very well written, though repeating the same events does kill some of the momentum via loss of suspense. Switching between the two stories as each action comes and goes gives you more action and means you don't have to change the ending.
On a side-note I had the same idea of the Griffons living near the Crystal Empire in one of my fan fiction pieces.
