This is a highly experimental, personal piece that ive wanted to try out for awhile. Its heavy on self insertion but unique in its own way. I hope to give the concept justice in the long run and that even if it doesn't feature your favorite characters or pairings, it will offer some possible humor and interesting story telling in the long run.
Be prepared for a good deal of temporary and possibly some long term confusion. This is to be frank, a story about tossing yourself into a fictional world willingly, the back and forth between ones imaginative mind and the conscious minds day to day, making due with what you have while still being able to have so much more. There is a little snippet below this general description that is technically part of the story itself, you can make due without it but might help you understand a few things better. Its included here as it does not (imo) fit the rest of the stories narrative.

There is something about the first few steps in a new body that is always unusual and grand. Regardless of species, regardless of age or time. I find that the oddity is not estranged from duplicates of the same form. One day you are a wolf, the next day a slightly smaller wolf, perhaps only by a hair. This change is always new, always an adjustment.
And so I have found myself a new form, a new home in which to entertain thoughts of whimsy and comfort the last few minutes before turning in for the night. There are rules of course, to entering these enchanted daydreams. Unwritten with consequences a plenty (though grave only in ones own mind) I would happily list out each word and route, a crisscrossing vine over an intersecting tree of actions and ramifications privy to this story and the hundreds of others I have invaded and created within my youth. It would be easier, give any and all who read this an up front view on what im talking about, various definitions and meanings behind the words set forth under clumsy fingers- chicken pecking at my keyboard; however In the time I have spent weaving myself into stories throughout the years and the hours spent in high school english courses there is a single solid rule that highlights them all: Show don't tell.
So ill drop the semantics and fourth wall breaking introduction for the time being. Ill attempt to write and share some shoddy self insertion fanfiction while attempting to skew in a few lessons, some history, and a rather important defining feature of life, my life, and story telling that we all have but have yet to associate with the bigger, grander picture of what could and will be.
