Thank you to a longtime friend for helping me confirm that Halo Infinite's shotgun is the first in franchise history to not one-hit kill at point blank range.
There's one less counter for the sword. Definitely needs a buff.
Regarding the trope that shotguns appear to be useless after 10 feet or so, and magically turn into cotton balls.
Instead of trying to balance around rock paper scissors style when shotguns are portrayed side by side with assault rifles, machine guns, and the like, this would be a game dedicated to shotgun porn. Some sort of leveling system to unlock newer shotguns, though there's still the occasional non-shotgun weapon if you really want to snipe people.
In the previous post regarding my Mosin-Nagant, I mentioned “I plan to purchase a semi-automatic Ruger 10/22 Takedown as my next rifle”; howbeit, I decided against purchasing that gun since practicing & plinking with a rifle I cannot reliably shoot for both fun & self-defense (such as a rifle chambered in the small .22) ultimately doesn’t appeal to me.
