Shotgun Wedding is up, and an update on the progress of The Best · 9:31am Oct 8th, 2013
Shotgun Wedding is a new story I started as a result of the RariJack forum prompt game. It is supposed to be a game where everyone writes a short bit of microfiction (100-500 words) based on a single word prompt... and I may have let things get a little out of hand and wrote something nearly three times longer than it was supposed to be.
And then spent an hour making a cover image.
And then had someone encourage me to turn it into a full-length comedy story. So, expect more of that particular story.
In other news, The Best is up to 13,000 words. I think my original estimate for it was 20,000 words, but given the first chapter is over 9,000 words long, I suspect it is going to wind up about 30,000 words long (it will have three chapters). I'm planning on completing the whole story before I actually, you know, start posting it... but I might not, if people really would prefer that.
What I WOULD like is some feedback on it. While it isn't as polished as I'd like it to be before farming out to editors, it has been a while since I wrote any sort of action... and I want to make sure that it actually works. If it isn't working, I need to do something to fix it. If anyone is interested in looking it over, I'll shoot you a link to it on Google Docs.
The short description of The Best:
Rainbow Dash has finally made it into the Wonderbolts and proved herself to be the best flier in all of Equestria... But Rainbow Dash isn't satisfied. If not even the Wonderbolts can keep up with her, who CAN she fly with? Does she want to be a member of a team that she can fly circles around? What is there left for her to aim for, now that she really is the best?
