Posted the first two chapters of the next fic in my Redemption series. This one is the earliest planned story chronologically, Cozy Glow: FIENDship is Magic. It’s modeled on the MLP comic series of the same name and serves a similar purpose, in that it’s supposed o give backstory to Cozy Glow the same way we got backstory for Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, the Sirens, and Nightmare Moon in those comics.

Cozy Glow is a genius - at least by pony standards. She weaponizes her own cuteness to win the trust of Twilight, (and manipulates her into suspecting Tirek, going to Tartarus, and getting locked inside via use of an artifact that Cozy had personally packed in Twilight's saddlebag).

Halfway through writing my fanfic that focuses on Cozy Glow's backstory, I re-watched “Marks for Effort” to get a better feel for the character. This was my first time seeing the episode after watching everything that came afterward, and it didn't help me understand the character any better than I had before. Viewed in this new context, Cozy's characterization in this episode seems like it was designed primarily to trick the audience. I'm legitimately not sure if she really needed help

What bothers me the most about the hate against Cozy Glow is that nobody seems interested in how she came to be so messed up in the first place.

Oh, and the extreme violence some "people" (read: monsters) desire to see leveled against her.

Because she's about the only real Pegasus or Earth Pony villain in "My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic".

Lightning Dust was a jerk, but not a true risk to Equestrian society level villain.

(There are other reasons I love her. This is just one I had been thinking about lately.)

The feeling when you realize that Cozy Glow is literally the result of a guy, his sister and the one time they both managed to completely forget about the birth control until well past noon the next day due to alcohol having been involved...

Equestria was nearly drained of all its magic literally because of a, "I-I'm sure it'll be fine... I mean what are the chances that just because of one time...?"

Well I'm up to almost 11 pages in chapter 6 and it's very difficult to get Cozy Glow to just accept that this is what's best for her. I mean, I'm giving her another mommy! The thing I never got! So I can't imagine what the problem is? Then again, I should probably look within for my answer? I mean, I'm transgender! I never really got the chance to be a "daughter" you know?
