A recent conversation about Starlight Glimmer's past inspired the following idea for a vigilante/masked hero origin story.

Who's a fan of Terry Pratchett? I'm sure lots of people here are.
How about Stephen Baxter? Probably fewer, but he's an excellent hard-SF author.
What do these two very different writers have in common? A relatively recent book, The Long Earth. They wrote it together.
Here's a passage from chapter 42:
Lobsang sighed. "Not exactly Rivendell, then, is it, with all these trolls and elves? Tell me, Sally, are there any unicorns in the Long Earth?"
So there is a story called Sucker Punch which has nothing to do with the film of the same name.
But I saw that story, and now I really want to read a ponified version of that film.
I just thought of one of the most interesting story ideas ever, and this time it isn't displaced for once. Well actually I got two ideas, but I'll keep one of them secret for now. Anyways, what if some random pony had a sentient shadow that manipulate other shadows. I got this idea through a game called shadow puppeteer, at first I thought it was interesting, then I thought of the implications of it and my mind went boom. Everyone has a shadow that is connected to themselves, but this sentient
Take Surtr from Marvel's Thor and combine him with the red bull from The Last Unicorn.
Mind. Blown.
As you might imagine I write rather a lot, in the past couple years I’ve put around half a million words down on paper, and of those I say a good 350k of them have been pony related.
Currently I'm focused on three fics from the Invader Zim and Mystery Skulls animated fandoms respectively, but I have a couple of future My Little Pony ideas on the backburner. Posting them here so I don't forget that
The list started after someone quoted the sentence:
Single-word titles have to work exceptionally hard to stand out.
which happens to be from a post by Dave Bryant. What follows is inspired by the one sentence in isolation, not the whole post from whence it came.
I shall now propose fics with single word titles. Why? No good reason.
I am finally committed to one story at a time, which I find as a huge achievement!
I am currently working on one that I hope to be on the featured list, maybe even at the top. Here’s two hints about what it’s about.
1. It has Twilight Sparkle
2. It has the fourth wall. ”A, B, C, D, Twilight is me!” Oh no, run!
The Story Ideas
First: A remake of PTS called Princess Starlight Sparkle... (I'll ask Magpie for permission) Starly will not need the help of Astelle, however... she seeks help from Meadowbrook, the Mage of the East. This will take place during season 5, between Amending Fences and The Cutie Remark: Part 1... but I'm not sure exactly when in the show it should take place. Can you help me with this one? Also... Shadow will be known by another name, and I can't think of a better one than Umbra. Anyway...
So... I Just got a new story Idea! My first story Should be realised Mid june or sooner... Stay tuned for updates!
Still here and writing stories. Though I wouldn't mind plot bunnies. Seriously, but me with plot bunnies, please!
So after Crystal Spire- The Unknown Hero is uploaded, I'm thinking of changing the story that I write next. Instead of the TCB Crossover that I've been tossing around in my head, I'm considering a different option. I'd like to know what you guys would rather see. (Everyone only can vote once, and only for one option)
A. Story where Maestro dies
B. Crossover with Pokémon
C. EQG Story
D. Keep the Current Idea
Alright, this is an actual re-write of somebody else’s story, but in this case I think I’m justified, as the fic in question was abandoned in 2012.
Hello to all who read this. I am a lover of stories great and small. But if you're a writer that doesn't know how to continue you're story or just need a new story to write hit me up. I have ideas and I'm able to work around the ideas you have as well.
...It’s going to be July 20th, which is not only the day I joined fimfiction, but it’s also the day I started the story, “Meet The Change Gang.”
So...
What should I do to celebrate?
I had some shower thoughts after watching some various fight shows, specifically about choreography. So, I assume we’re all broadly familiar with sword fights.
Note that “gun” and “sword” here are simply shorthand for any ranged, projectile weapon and any melee weapon, punches and kicks included.
In a discord, I just remarked:
But how do you feel about crediting ideas somewhere, in Author's Note or LD?
I am in favor of crediting inspirations, that is ALL OVER my back catalog.
I also know at least one person who is like 'eh, ideas are not for crediting, they belong to everyone.'
And it is true that some ideas are available to everyone. Like..."I want to write Rainbow x Gilda." That might not require a VAST amount of creativity until you actually write it.
