Happy 10-year anniversary, Equestria Girls!!! Can't believe how time flies.
To celebrate, we’ve got a book on our hands. One that could soon also be in yours.
So this is way, way overdue. It really has been such a long time, hasn't it? Life just flies by nowadays. Sometimes you just have to try something new and it ends up completely messing with your expectations, and Everfree Northwest 2019 was one such experience. Infuriatingly, EFNW has been cancelled for this year, so I should finally post this. Conventions are kind of infamous for how easily people pick up diseases there after all. Hey folks! I'm going to be at Everfree Northwest!
More than just visiting, though, I'm hosting a panel about writing, and will be sitting in on several other writing panels!
If any of y'all are going, you should check it out.
More details after the break.
Suffice it to say my life is becoming the mess, but all is not lost. I have good friends, a tiny portion of my family still likes me, and Everfree Northwest is going to be great this year.
Great guests, good people, and I, along with many others, get a custom badge. As in 100% custom... sort of. See we get to send a headshot of our OC's to be converted into a one of a kind Badge of awesome. "But wait," I hear some of you all saying, "Mayhew doesn't have the OC."
Just a reminder that I'll be heading to EFNW, which means an early morning train to a slightly less early plane tomorrow. As such, expect delays on the next Friendship is Card Games. (Also be careful of spoilers in general given the Italian triple episode release coming up shortly.)
Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be in Seattle! I'll be in the shirt that looks like a Hawaiian shirt made from the shredded remains of other Hawaiian shirts.
If you've been putting it off for whatever reason, now's the time! We'll be closing registration for the Book Nook whenever I remember to shut the form off tomorrow within 24 hours! So if you're thinking about making ponyfic prints available at Everfree this August, make sure you sign up today:
I have finally gotten off my lazy behind and done what I told myself I would do after finishing this series in 2020: the entirety of A Fleeting Light in the Darkness and its three sequels will be available as a printed book, and it's coming to a Book Nook near you (if you are in or near the Seattle area during Everfree Northwest this August).
I'll be there, helping Mono run her booth again. (If you're interested in any signed prints of Mono's work, head over here to fill out a form to help us figure out how much stock to bring.)
If you like pins, find me and I'll give you a free PFP pin until/unless I run out of them! (I love pins and one day I realized I could make some to give away for fun and no one could stop me.)
A bit late for this post! To be honest, I've had to spend a couple of days mentally and physically recharging. It's been a while, and that many people - and that many things to do - took a surprising amount out of me. Still, this is something that I wanted to make - and I've got other blog posts that I wanted to make after this one, so stay tuned.
My upcoming card blog schedule is going to be a bit muddled in the coming weeks since I'm heading to Everfree Northwest just in time for enough G5 content to aggregate to the point of reviewability. (Yes, the "kinks" in the blog title refer to unexpected changes to my plans. You should be ashamed of yourself. ) As such, here's what to expect in the near future of FiCG:
So it's been over a week since Everfree Northwest has ended, and I got some good news and bad news from RBDash47, the organizer of Twilight's Book Nook at EFNW.
The good news: Winter Dreams, Summer Reminisces made a sale!
Hey all! I've got some insider information that around 35% to 40% of the Book Nook's inventory has been sold. There's still a lot of books left however (including mine!), so if you're in Seattle, head on over to the Book Nook to get a ton of wonderful books from the fandom's writers!
["**** it dude. Let's watch ponies."]
Greetings:
A whole bunch of not-very-good writing and two months of hurry-up-and-wait later, I'm stuck in an airport cafe on my way home after vacation, phase I (Family-maxxing). One day turnaround, then off to Everfree Northwest. There may be writing. There will be partying (in the BerryTube suite, Room TBD).
Time to hit those keys and stopping moaping around. It does no one good. (unless your fluttershy then everyone hugs her, I know you do it for the hugs fluttershy!)
Too.. cute.. hrrg!
Just wanted to say I'll be attending Everfree Northwest! I've always wanted to go to EFNW because they seem to really respect and care about the fanfic side of the community, and it's looking like this year's the year. Plane and hotel booked, badge acquired. Hoping I get to meet some new faces and see some old friends again.
