Chapter eight of IDelP is pretty much ready to go. While I am waiting on my usual prereaders to comb through this one, I am going to need some additional help.

Hello writers! You were warning this post was coming, so hopefully you’ve taken the past few days to think over writing topics you wanted to see addressed, because as of right now, the Topic Call for future Being a Better Writer posts is open! That’s right, it’s time! Those of you who were waiting and ready for this to go can skip down to the
Hey readers! Just a quick heads-up: Episode 5 of Fireteam Freelance drops tomorrow!
Well, this is a news post. Though there isn’t too much to say, really. And I’m going to try and keep it short anyway because I want to blast through at least the first half of Starforge‘s Beta today (I’m only a few chapters from the halfway mark, so it’s a good goal).
Surprise!
Yeah, I’m taking this Monday off. From Being a Better Writer. For three reasons.
One, it’s been a while, and a break sounds kind of nice. I churn these out almost every Monday without fail, year round save the occasional holiday, so yeah, a break actually sounds kind of nice. If you’re still itching to read something BaBW today, I’d say hit that search bar on the side and find one of the hundreds already up!
Good afternoon readers! I'm thrilled to announce that Crystal Wishes and I are kicking off our fall cameo call today. If you've ever wanted to have your OC appear in one of our stories this is your chance! Four lucky readers will have have that opportunity. Entering is extremely easy. Just read the information below so that we're all on the same page and then click the link to the form.
They Call Her The Courier: Sugar
This minific is for Fallout: New Vegas and specifically borrows from the New Vegas Bounties mod. It was written as though they are human, but you could really just change some words and boom, pony.
The Courier swaggered into Randall's office like she'd done so many times before, brushing the New Vegas dust from her shoulder.
The three Call of Duty: Equestrian Warfare chapters I promised Raven Regios are complete and should be posted shortly. If you're at all interested to see how Call of Duty would play out in Equestria, give it a look. Next up, as promised... The Lawyer and The Unicorn, Chapter 15. Working title: "Client Compatibility." At least two major adult scenes, and one major surprise planned. 800 words written
March Live Event
The March live event went off without a hitch last night and was a lot of fun. We had a lot of new faces and the crowd was pretty large. Plus we had a ton of great questions. We hope you'll join us in April for our next event!
There were a few announcements this month that we wanted to follow up with here.
Cameo Call Winners
2016s first cameo call was a big success! We had over 40 unique entries! Here are the winners:
And, I got this feeling in my chest.
A feeling of warmth, bubbling upwards.
Is this the thing they call joy?
More later.
So, as you know, there are a few stories that need updates or haven't been getting attention.
Now, that's going to change. Below are a list of stories that will be rewritten and reworked.
1. Above the Call will have the same title, but a plot similar to the one I envisioned in the first iteration of it. That means the 141 on the run in Equestria from the Element Bearers. And yes, the full cast of the 141, Team Metal, Yuri, and Allen will be there.
PEPPERMINT TWIST
This week, I have been posting a few essays inspired by Call of the Cutie. I felt Peppermint Twist deserved her own post.
Call of the Cutie is the only episode where she speaks, and she hardly even appears in later episodes, (except I think as a background pony on rare occasion).
So, clearly my first major attempt at writing a sorta-serious story in a 1st person POV was not as popular compared to my other stories so far. I'll be honest, seeing it earn a thumbs down for each thumbs up during the first night I published it is a little concerning on my mind.
Unsurprisingly, it’s been a little rough trying to pull my head back into work. It’s … part of grief, as I understand it.
But part of it is also the timing. Axtara – Magic and Mayhem was almost done with its first Alpha Read. And now?
So if you notice, some tags have changed on The Whittler. This is because, the biggest hang-up I've had over this story, was to either stick with my original ideas, or try and change it to what I wanted it to be, which was more Slice of Life.
I realized that this has made me spiral out of control, trying to change the story, even going into the original gdocs of chapters and almost totally re-writing the story, which would require me to update each chapter, changing the whole story.
That certainly was an episode wasn't it? You can just smell all those fanfics and headcanons burning.
Oddly enough, the episode actually canonized something I wrote.
