Axtara – Magic and Mayhem Alpha Call Part Deux · 1:09am February 24th
Unsurprisingly, it’s been a little rough trying to pull my head back into work. It’s … part of grief, as I understand it.
But part of it is also the timing. Axtara – Magic and Mayhem was almost done with its first Alpha Read. And now?
Look, I can’t remember half of what was said about it. If I didn’t do the edit already, well I’m well and truly out of my groove. I can’t remember if there was supposed to be a second Alpha or not. I think I was leaning toward it, since the opening was rewritten, but …
Point being I need to effectively start over. That or charge ahead blind of any fixes it may still need. And while I know I’m still reeling from everything and not quite myself yet—and for the record I have no idea how long that might take—I am aware enough to know that’s a really bad idea.
So, what’s going on? Well, I’ve made small tweaks to the draft over the last few days, and I’m working my way through it again, but …It’s time for a second Alpha Read.
I know. Believe me, I wish there was a way around it. Especially after seeing my holiday season be completely gutted by everything that went on. Axtara – Magic and Mayhem was supposed to be a Christmas release, and instead that was completely crushed, and I got zilch. Sands, worse than zilch, since the internet thrives off of presence, and mine over the holiday season was effectively reduced to near zero. What should have been strong holiday sales instead cratered.
Long, roundabout way of saying that just about everything in my life is screwed up right now, and I really wish I was just about to release Magic and Mayhem because that would really help out. But unfortunately, I really don’t trust it without some more eyes.
I’ll be sending out emails to prior Alpha Readers today. If you weren’t able to take part in the last Alpha, then please, I’m begging you, take part in this one. I need the feedback.
I wish everything was going better, but unfortunately I don’t have that call. But if nothing else I can at least get Axtara – Magic and Mayhem done before everything falls apart completely.
