This is partially to make up for National Not Writing Month, which I participated in by not even writing a single thing last month. November is always waaaaay too busy for me to make much progress (I'm busy doing my part for wildlife conservation), and it turns out the current state of the world did not change a dippy-trippy thing.

Other than the last couple live streams, which went really smoothly compared to the previous, low-framerate attempts I did months ago, I uh haven't been very active-active really. Not even really blogging any shitthoughts that comes to mind. But I feel like you guys should know why that is.
I once had an idea for a big idea for a spy fic. That fic involved a large cast of characters being members of a small organization created by Princess Luna. The members included Fancy Pants as the leader with dark past, Flur de Lis as Fancy's protege/bodyguard/surrogate daughter (with some sort of Oedipus complex mixed in), Blueblood as their ace agent, Octavia as a hidden master of martial arts and Vinyl Scratch as their mission control, tech support and the odd one in the group. Hello, this is Zephyr Spark. As I've written more chapters of "Spike Meets Mimikyu," I've noticed that each chapter receives fewer and fewer comments. This made me worry that I have burned out my original audience who have grown bored of my long chapters and that I'm putting too much effort into a story that nobody cares about anymore. It's been a while. In the past year and a half, despite occasionally crawling back here to whine about the show's direction, I've largely stayed away from Pony and spent a lot of time in other fandoms. My writing and my understanding of writing has been improved in important ways, and I've come to realize certain bad habits I used to have, (primarily in jumping in before properly fleshing out my ideas.) Furthermore, this time away from Pony has extended to my own multi-chapter stories, which
I hate shipping. Normally, my standard response to shipping talk is "shipping is a plague." But in this case, allow me to tell you why I believe that.
But first, to preface, I don't actually care if someone ships or not. I'm not out to ruin anyone's fun. Shipping in and of itself is not the problem. The problem is all the bullshit that comes with it.

Thank you guys. It's such an honor to post my work for you all to read, and it means so much to me when you tell me you enjoy it. It really makes all my efforts feel worth it. By no means has this journey been an easy one, but if I hadn't taken it, I wouldn't have met some of my best friends.

First of all, I apologize to anyone that has been disappointed by the fact that I have not uploaded a second chapter to Appledash: How it Would Happen. It feels kind of pompous to type this as if I'm addressing a large audience. I know I'm not really a popular writer on this site, but I am partially writing this for myself, and also, there are probably some people who would have liked to see a second chapter. I've been putting some thought into Guiding of the Sirens, and an idea occurred to me.
I haven't done one of these in a while. Also, for some reason there's now over seven hundred of y'all following me. What. I don't know if I should be proud or concerned. Perhaps a milestone blog with more to it will come after my latest story drops. Or maybe not. I dunno. I'd have to narrow it down to one main focus.
And do a review post on my fanfics? I don't mind if you be honest or brutally honest about my works on here so far though. 
So Estee did a thing last week that I thought was a cool idea — sift through your own back catalogue and rank your own stories from best to worst. I found it interesting as a reader to see where the author's opinions differed from mine — so I figured I'd spread the idea and post my own rankings, along with bonus commentary on why I felt the way I did!
Those who frequent Quills and Sofas know that I can be pretty demanding in my critiques. It's not often I give stories a 5/5 rating, even if they're from very proficient authors. Even when I do, it's very rare that I don't have any improvements to offer at all.
