I have to say that while there are other badfic and riffing groups on this site with with a wider selection, larger community, or more stringent (lack-of-)quality standards, yours is has, in my humble opinion, the most perfect banner art of any of them. Congratulations.

Do you think some people post not-quiet-good but not-quite-bad stories here hoping that it gets better attention then when its competing with people who claim theirs is already good, which some are but like... still.
Like its not good but when standing next to these it looks good. Or do people just hate getting their stories here? IDK...

In all seriousness, this is just malicious. Yes one of my stories was put here. Guess what, I don't care about that. I know my stories are kind of weird and probably won't get many fans, I made my peace with that a long time ago. However, it was put here WITHOUT MY PERMISSION!!!
If anyone were to have asked me to put it here, guess what, I woukd have said yes. If anyone was to kindly ask me to out in here I would have had a causal discussion about it and I wouldn't have felt hurt by it. But no, it was just put there and I did not know about it until I accidentally discovered that apparently someone felt it was bad enough to not explain.
That is pure malice! The purpose of criticism is to help someone improve, to bring out potential that is not being used. The respectful thing to do is say this,
"Hey, I really don't want to hurt your feelings but, I'm really sorry to tell you this, I really didn't think your story was very good... I'm sorry to tell you this because I know you probably worked very hard on it and it means a lot to you. I'm part of this group where bad stories can be placed in and people can see them and maybe give you some advice on how to be better. I won't do that though if you say no, and again I'm really sorry if I hurt your feelings..."
Nobody ever said anything bad about the story outside of dislikes, so putting it in a group like this without asking doesn't feel like you want to help, it feels like you just want to give self doubting writers reason to self doubt.
