The Dragonlords of Terra are a mighty order of warrior ponies formed from the sacrifice of Vidarr to defeat Heimdallr and other monsters that threatened the safety of the planet and everyone living on it. With the life span of a thousand years, they were strong, powerful, fast, and were capable of fighting and beating anything that they came across.

Yet, despite their grandeur, they still needed a break from time to time. So, every hundred years or so, a Dragonlord would leave their brothers and sisters and settle down for a normal life somewhere, so he or she could live a life like they could have before they became Dragonlords. These periods were known among the Order as Retirements.

And Fluttershy Firewing, the last of the Dragonlords, is no exception to this.

Fluttershy intends to enjoy the retirement period while she can, for she knows that her days of enjoying such a life are numbered…

A collection of short stories set in the two years between, ‘Last of the Dragonlords’ and, ‘Last of the Dragonlords: A Good Mare Goes To War’. Only basic knowledge of the first story is needed to read these.

For Fluttershy it was suppose to be a normal day: meet up with Rarity for their weekly get together, get some apples from the market, then go home and tend to her animal friends. Then a dragon attacks the town and her life is changed forever.

She walks away from the attack, but not unchanged. She now has the ability to walk through fire without getting hurt, her hearing and eyesight have greatly improved, and she could speak a language that nopony, not even Princess Celestia, knows.

Dertermined to find out what happened to her, Fluttershy, along with her friends, head north to find a pony who could give her the answers she needs. Will she find what she was looking for? and if so, would she want them in the end?

Rated teen for some violence, some strong but not gory detail.

This story is a sequel to Last of the Dragonlords

Fluttershy hoped she wouldn't have to take up her weapons for a long time. She hoped she could enjoy the time she had with her friends. She hoped she could live a life of peace and prosperity. That she could watch her friends be happy, get married, have foals, and watch them grow old, and be with them until the day they die.

She could never have been more wrong.

Now, nearly two years after she learnt who and what she was, she must take up her swords Firewing and Drage Bane and her wing blades once more, as Equestria is broken apart by a ruthless, determined, bitter, and insane enemy.

But how can she do that when her friends and loved ones have suddenly turned against her?

Sequel to 'Last of the Dragonlords'. (Not sure how well it works on its own, but informartion regarding the events of the first story is thrown through the story, allowing easier understanding to those who haven't read the prequel story.)

Nine months after the defeat of Heimdallr, Fluttershy finally lives a peaceful life among her friends. However, she is still a Dragonlord, who has sworn to protect those who can't protect themselves. A building that caught on fire forces Fluttershy to obey her oath, and use her abilities to save a young filly from it.
