1. Candlejack Candlejack Candlejack
Pinkie Pie is desperate to invite an old friend over, but he isn't responding. Now, she just needs to figure out how to stop everyone else from saying his name while convincing him to show up.
2. Stares Back.
A mysterious zone of quiet has appeared in the Everfree and seemingly claimed the lives of several Ponyville residents. Fortunately for the victims, Celestia and Discord are on the case.
3. When Day, Breaks.
Beset on all sides by hungry nations desiring their land, the equestrians didn't think they'd survive the century. They were right, though their killer was not a griffin spear or Minotaur axe, but the sun above.
4. Dreammaster.
Beg for your life, pray for your soul, but whatever you do, dont trust a dream.

Also. To get this out of the way. These reviews are short, and brief, and exist to entice you into reading them. They are not thorough breakdowns of themes, content etc. Rather they contain exactly what I imagine will intrigue you into reading them. I've also read a few of the ones I didn't have a chance to review, but I didn't get a chance to reread them due to time constraints and I didn't want to accidentally misremember something.
So without further ado, here's the review!
Blink 10/10
Blink is not extensive, but that doesn't mean its not good, in fact its great. A wonderful little head cannon that is disturbing without overstaying its welcome. Its true power is in its open endedness. The questions it raised are not answered within the original text so it falls to others to puzzle out the possibilities, paving the way for many great sequels, prequels, and spin offs. Some of which are listed and reviewed below.
Not The First. 7/10
Initially it treads old ground, but quickly moves past reastablishing the basic formula and moves onto its own horror. Once this happens, it comes into its own and truly becomes disturbing. Though not quite as unique, or as creative as it could be, its an unnerving read none the less.
To Blink. 4/10
Short, to the point and not quite as impactful, its a mediocre addition but not altogether unpleasant.
Blink and You Miss It. 10/10
Is everything I want in a story. Thought provoking, well written, good characters, it is the tour de force if you will. More importantly it actually made me pause and realize I didn't know the meaning of a word, which not to sound too arrogant, hasn't happened in a while. Years of Word a Day calenders and using a thesaurus will do that. Though not dark, and definitely not horror, its absolutely worth reading.
Flash.
Though I can't recommend it or rate it given its incomplete and seemingly abandoned state, I am intrigued. It certainly takes the Blink beginnings and does more world building, or should I say body building. Pardon the pun. It does feel more real, more bound in reality, and would be interesting to see where it goes, should it actually continue that is.
Blinking and its sequels.
Blinking 9/10
Is good, very good. Its a logical conclusion to the events of blink that don't stray too far while still being creative and unique.
Eyes Open 5/10
This feels like a very natural extension from blinking, almost too much so. There really isn't too much to offer here, too much to really sink your teeth into. It would have benefited from an extra scene or two to really justify its own existence.
Don't Blink 7/10
The previous story can really only be justified in the context of this sequel. Where the other didn't really do much, this one takes the original’s story and expands as well as explores it. Well worth it and a worthy conclusion to this bit of branching possibilities.
Rapid Blink 2/10
This is just a bit of world building masquerading as a true story. There are no characters, no interesting descriptions, or poignant plot twists. Just, (Spoiler warning) What if the spheres were finite, and more of them. Wouldn't recommend save for just an interesting what if from which a more talented writer could expand.
Blinked. 1/10
A miserable, bleek story that is desperately trying to shock, but compared to the other horror it just feels like a cheap cop out. Not worth reading.
Original Stories
The flesh is weak. 6/10
Is good, but doesn't quite reach the height its attempting to grab. Despite that its still well worth it, and if the worst complaint you can levy, is “Didn't reach its full potential” then thats a good complaint to have made about you.
Princess Day 9/10
Is good, very good, sad, horrible, but good. If you have the stomach for the big sad then you’ll enjoy this. The only reason its not a 10/10 is because it made me sad so I took a point off out of spite.
Pinkie Pie is an eldritch abomination. 10/10
A classic premise done to absolute perfection the less said the better, go, enjoy.
Something’s Always Watching 7/10
A good fic, plenty of interesting possibilities, fun to contemplate, but not super scary or unnerving. It could have used an extra scene or two to really amp up the fear and paranoia. Well worth a read and short to boot.
Memento Mori 6/10
A good, if a bit generic tale of Twilight's descent into madness. Though it was written in 2012 so it can be forgiven for a bit of generacy considering it was part of the push that made these troupes prevalent in the first place.
Its sequel, The Outer Dark 10/10
Makes Memento Mori not only worth reading, but also better by comparison. What began in that other story, ended in this one, becoming something much greater then what it had started as. The prose are great, the shift inperspective impressive. Give this one a read.
