Valentine's Day will, in the Western world, invariably mean that your local slice of popular culture is inundated with images and themes of love today. This can be amusing, exciting, or depressing, depending on who you are, where you are in life, and where you think you ought to be.
So, on this day, Candybutt and I would like to remind you that "love" includes loving yourself, and we urge you to do just that. You are perfect just as you are, whatever situation you're in. Do not let popular culture tell you that you need to be experiencing something that you're not.
Kiss, kiss.
Thank for the reminder. One has to love themselves just as much as anyone else. How else will onevhave any love to share?
Hell, I ain't perfect. Nor would I ever wanna be. Perfect is no fun! It's boring. Have you ever tried boring?! You just... Sit there. No one want's that! ... Well okay almost no one.
Thanks, I needed to see that :)
Also, it might be a good idea to celebrate the Finnish version of February 14th -- the Day of Friends!
Much healthier, and lot less exploitatively shmoopy, as far as I can tell.

I know you're being sincere, and I agree. However, I can't help but mention that this makes me think of the candy colored changelings.
Thanks babe
Love yourself too, Skywriter. <3
This is a good reminder.
Though even being in a relationship, I skip Valentine's, generally. Our preferred "thing" is eating out, and OH GOD any decent restaurant will be a nightmare this evening.
Many hearts on Valentine's Day.

Very true!
I, meanwhile, have done none of the mentioned things; have spent the day doing a slightly-too-long walk, Cleaning The Bathrooms and then filling my Dad's pre-version two release wargames with red text. Woot, as I believe the whatever-we're-calling-the-current-children-generation would say.
...
I actually owe you a bit of tha ks for that Skywriter; the stuff you drilled into me when you edited Heart of the Matter stuck in. That and having Dad go through my rules a year or two ago has significantly improved my ability to proof-read. (Also seven months of solid work back converting Pathfiner 1 to 3.Aotrs, liely helped too...)
Thanks for the encouragement.
Aw, and on a day when Tip just left Plant!Tip. Oh well, it was not to be: they weren't all that frond of one another.
Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's definitely important for everyone, no matter what kind of relationship they're in (or not), to appreciate the good parts of themselves. And sometimes the not-so-good parts, like one's horrible inclination towards punning.
You are a treasure, Skywriter. God bless.
Our best to you and Feech.
(You are still together after all this time, yes?)
Well said.
I like the idea of what Valentine's can represent, a special day to show your love for your loved one, and more and more I see it extended to show love to your friends as well.
But even that can be tough for some people, and this day can only reinforce feelings of loneliness.
Love yourself. Absolutely. If nothing else, see this day as a chance to be extra kind to yourself.
Happy Hearts Day, Skywriter
