Adoption · 12:27am Dec 9th, 2019
Yesterday, I adopted a fic.
It is the second sequel to the story that brought me to FimFiction in the first place; How the Sunset Sparkles by Scipio Smith.
For various reasons, none of which are important to this blog and because they explained themselves in a post back in 2015, this and a handful of other stories were left incomplete and offered for adoption. This series, as explained above, holds a special place in my heart and I wanted to see it finished.
However, with it being so early in the story, not much plot has been developed. I have notes from Scipio and some ideas, but I want to let you know that while I will try to hew to the general pathway they intended, it may deviate a bit just because of the new writer. If any of you followed this series, let me know your thoughts.
I feel a little like Sanderson might have when asked to complete The Wheel of Time series after Robert Jordan passed.
I hope I do it justice.
Good on you Rose!
I can't wait to see what you do.
I'm a huge fan of both you and Scipio.
I've actually followed that series, and I'm looking forward to seeing it finished in anyway possible. You'll do fine, your work is WELL above average, and I just wish a few other stories would be adopted as well. There are so many good ideas that get started and just fade away unfinished as inspiration and/or a real life problem arises. I wish you the greatest luck, and I'll be lurking in the shadows as always
There was a Harry Potter fanfic that was adopted. It was a dark fic that deviated midway through Goblet of Fire. It was fantastic, and the author stopped writing it while writing the sequel and the person that adopted it, seems to have gone the way of the original writer. I hope you can do this story justice and not go the way of the original.
I've not read the parent story (yet), but I trust in your ability Rose. I'm sure it'll prosper under your pen (keyboard?).
I have been waiting for what feels like forever for the story to be completed and I am eager to read it. As for your ability you can truly do this story justice
I have the utmost faith!
I am so happy this story is being continued, thank you.
full faith and god speed.
seems i'll never catch up to whats on this site, glad you're bringing up some of the good stuff.
