I await an episode of pure fluff. Especially since this is episode 200. Episode 100 was literally titled 'Slice of Life,' sooooo... yeah.
I really want to hope that it's Shining playing against Twilight in Ogres and Oubliettes since that was his thing in the comics, but they already did that with Spike, Discord, and Big Mac, so I doubt it.
I haven't seen the episode yet. I'll just say it's ironic. When Shining Armor was first introduced, he had an impossibly ideal relationship with Twilight Sparkle 'We never had a single fight', etc, (never mind she never so much as mentioned him until the writers wrote him into existence), but now that we're in the final season, (I had hoped we'd be done with New Playset junk now that they can't be canceled twice), they retcon this NOW (?!) to them having flaws and teasings.
And it being episode 200, the last milestone the series will have (for the better, it's way past time to lay this zombie to rest), it's just odd they chose this for the plot.

OK...best episode of Season 9 so far, and probably one of the best episodes ever.
Everything about it was perfect! The strengthening of Canterlot's Security, the banter, Luna's backstabbing, Spike...seriously, if that wasn't the show's way of saying "Spike isn't worthless" I don't know what is.
So, does anyone else think it's the mother of all coincidences that this episode aired right on the heels of Joker from Persona 5 becoming playable in Smash Ultimate? No? Just me? Okay.
This episode was a treat. Humor was on-point, the twist was unexpected yet believable, and it's nice to see some sibling rivalry between Twilie and the BBBFF. My only complaint is that I wish they played this during the commercial breaks on the stream:
