OPP 29 announcement blog · 2:47am Aug 7th, 2017
At long, long last, OPP is going to update. Tomorrow after I get off work . . . which means sometime between 7 and 8 pm EDT. Set your clocks accordingly!
To whet your appetite somewhat, I'm including a section of the upcoming chapter. Well, sort of. This particular passage didn't make the editing cut, so this is the only place you're gonna see it.
After showing Raven and Lavender Sunrise their rooms, Diamond Mint had taken a moment to go back downstairs and inform Starlight that she would have two more ponies for dinner tonight, and one of them was Princess Celestia’s personal assistant.
Starlight had taken the news reasonably well; after a frantic search through her cupboards she had strapped on her saddlebags and galloped off to the market. Diamond had then taken a moment to verify that the nurses were in fact going to keep using the bedroom tonight, and she’d also sent one of the guards to go find Lyra, who still hadn’t returned to the embassy.
Then, with nothing else to do until Raven came back downstairs, she’d gone through what she considered the meeting room and made sure that all the flowers that were left over from yesterday still looked good, and plucked a few out that were starting to wilt and could be used as a snack before dinner. Starlight would give the final approval on that once she returned; with no idea of what the dinner menu was, Diamond didn’t know which flowers would go well with it.
She had also warned Dale, who had taken the opportunity to go up to his room and change into the same clothes he’d been wearing yesterday—and this time, he’d thought to put his wig on, as well.
He beat Raven back downstairs, but only just.
Diamond stood by the doorway to his office, and when Raven came back downstairs, Diamond entered the office first and introduced her to Dale. Given that she was standing just outside the doorway, it was probably unnecessary, but it was proper and polite.
She was embarrassed that she didn’t have any tea for them—neither Dale nor Kate drank it very much, and as a result, Starlight often let the fire in the stove die down during the day, which both saved on firewood and also kept the kitchen cooler. Diamond probably could have built up the fire; her nascent cooking skills at least covered that. But Starlight might have been mad at her if she’d done something wrong, and while perhaps Raven would be mildly offended that they didn’t have tea, Dale likely wouldn’t be bothered at all, and she hoped that he wouldn’t suggest it and Raven wouldn’t ask.
From her position outside the doorway, she could easily hear if they called for her, and she was far enough outside that she could pretend not to overhear their private conversation.
Her neutral position lasted a few minutes, before Dale called her into the room for help translating for Raven, and even though it wasn’t something she was supposed to do, Lyra wasn’t back yet, and she was obligated to help him in whatever way he required.
As promised, it's coming out before my 2 millionth word on Fimfiction.

Just how much of that is due to Silver Glow’s Journal?
The new chapter will be great to read after work! Tomorrow night will not come soon enough!

I really need to get started on that little project.
But then (I now realize), I have a class in the fall that's related to the nature of the project. Maybe I can do it during then (and maybe convince my professor to give me extra credit).
Let's see how it plays out.
This is wonderful news! I have been looking forward to more of Dale and his adventure! I do miss Silver Glow though.
excellent, looking forward to it. I should be done with side stories by then.
Woo!
Do my eyes deceive me? Has the Biscuit just confirmed that he's not completely abandoned OPP!? Oh joyous day and praise be to the Biscuit!
ERMAGERD
and I'll be at work at that time.
Oh well, something to have to look forward to after the hectic day that is a Monday.
And yet, shamefully, Sam and Rose goes unupdated and unloved.
OMC Yus
Looks like someone wants to avoid being lynched! Releasing a chapter of OPP just before the big con, very clever.

It's not unloved if you still love it, CiG.
*cheers*

The leading 1, and close to a thousand beyond that.
Very, very soon.
4626271
Yay!
4626274
Even better, I've got most of chapter 30 and some of chapter 31 written, so there ought not be a year delay before the next chapter is posted.
4626278
...too hot to trot.

Oh yeah, if you can make that work, it's the perfect time. And it's not like I'll be done by OPP by the time you're done with your class.
4626314
As do I.
4626323
Did you make it?

It's true--it's all true. OPP lives on!

He's not the only one who loves it. It's about the most relaxing thing I write.
4627087
yep. Not going to be able to read the new chapter right away though (yay homework).
4627133
Blah, homework. I don't miss it.
4628066
yeah, it's summer session, so it's also twice the pace ... for a class that probably shouldn't be that fast and that i'm finding difficult.
4628092
Don't you know that if you can't get everything done in the allotted time, you just need to do it faster? If it takes twenty hours a week to cover all your course material, you can cut that time in half by having the classes only be ten hours a week.
(One company that my brother did test flights for used that philosophy. If four flights per day was too intensive a schedule, they'd just change to five.)
