    Just an update!

Currently, reviewing all chapters for mistakes, one at a time. So if you see changes, 'twas me!

Am getting them ready for self-publishing and could be a while. Getting those spelling errors and try to get the story straight from when I was writing so fast it was a jumble.

    Oh! And I forgot!

Yes, to those wondering, I'm trying to figure out how to format all the stories to self-publish the chronicle of Legacy.

I was surprised, very humbled and honored beyond all belief when some readers asked if I was planning to do so. Now, there is money coming in, I can plan on this.

    Let's try this again....

Okay, I said I received the messages, yes. I did not say it would turn into something bad. A love scene? I did one in the story, nothing bad at all except a nicely short thing that let you know they loved each other. My definition of 'hot' is very different from a lot of folks.

    Messages Received :)

Now, I'm an adult, lots of folks here are adults, we all ..blah blah blah blah. And that's over with.

I have gotten, through private messages, or otherwise, requests for..shall we say..ohhhh..a 'steamy' story or two, or even a scene in the main story of Legacy itself.

    Update!!!

I have been hired onto a new job, and I'm excited! Plus scared. Trust me, traveling round the country laying fiber optic cable doens't sound bad, but it's a big change from what I was doing.

I have not stopped writing, it's been a hard last few months, but I have a ton of chapters to update with!

Looking Back.. · 1:54pm Feb 26th, 2017

As the title says, I was just looking back at some things.

I want to thank you all for staying with me as I write this adventure. Good or bad, I read all the comments and try to reply to everyone.

You take the time to read what I post so it's only fair I do the same. It's truly amazing what you all come up with, the ideas, the crazy thoughts, everything that helps me come up with things to present to you, the readers.

I appreciate each and every one of you. ALL of you, even the ones that did not continue reading because they decided it wasn't for them. All of you deserve a thank you.

To be honest, I never in my wildest imagination thought people would actually do fan art of this story. It came as a surprise, pleasant and very welcomed at the skilled artists out there. Plus the folks who actually had commissions done of characters.
Thank you too!

I stumbled across something I hadn't realized. The views say 9,537. Which is just awesome to me, I could never have imagined anything like that. But when I saw the other number I could only sit and stare for a while.
398,075.
That number represents how many times people have gone back to reread the story, to catch up, or to just enjoy everything again.

It's mind-boggling. It's humbling. I can only say thank you from the very bottom of my heart.

Thank you. You've all made this worthwhile, fun and exciting and I will keep putting words down as long as I can keep them flowing.

Never stop pointing out flaws, arguing with me on points, or anything else. You are all incredible, crazy, wonderful, wacky and wild. Don't ever stop being yourselves!

As an extra thing, I've looked into self-publishing this. I was asked by a very nice reader if I would be thinking about it.
I know, hubris before a fall. The costs are not too bad, and I guarantee if I do, each and every copy would be hoof-signed by me:twilightsmile: I would have to re-edit each and every chapter, and knowing the length of a certain one which caught me all sorts of Tartarus, may be more than one book.

Probably a 6x9 Trade paperback, cause hardcover would kill on being able to afford it.. Approx 20-30 dollars depending for HC, 6-8$ for paper. I'll have to delve into it a little more and report to you all later.

It's not Fallout: Equestria, but it is a tale I've enjoyed writing, and you have read. Besides, I love books.

I'm asking you, the readers. Let me know what you think. I WANT your opinions and whatever on this. Something you'd be interested in? No?

Fire away!

Thank you for making such a wonderful story:twilightsmile:

A book would be something i would be definitely ready to buy if you decide to publish one.

Also.... for a hardcover copy, i'd be ready to pay 50$ easily:scootangel:
though i use euros... how much is 50€ in dollars or vice versa (50$ in euros)? I don't know....:applejackconfused:

Thank you! I will definitely start looking into it then!

Currently Eur to Dollar is 1US dollar to 0.95 Euro. And I'll price out the hardcover version as well!

I'm In sign me up!

4436855 Well if you're in that pretty much says it all... So..many...chapters... :rainbowlaugh:

Putting it into print means there is a possibility of a end. Its sad to even think that about this story. But I would get a copy if it was done. If for nothing else to put with all the other books about Bolo's in my library.

4436859 There's always a possibility of an end. It does come to any story. As a matter of fact I've actually got the last line of the entire story already thought out. But getting there, that's the adventure. And it will take more than one Volume, that I do know. There's more to tell, to discover, to share and to wonder over :)

All about the price for me. But a book would mean this has come to an end. :fluttercry:

Otherwise, For Glory!
oldroadapples.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/855_max1.jpg

4436864 Yep, I would buy this in a heartbeat!

Ps. I will leave you with a picture of the Bolo Prototype!
nationalinterest.org/files/main_images/1280px-usmc-100330-m-6001s-290.jpg

Btw, I did the math, the numbers were 3492.09649123 re-reads... That's enough said...

You know, if thou made such a book, I would mean the end of this story.......BUT THAT DOES NOT MEAN THOU CANT MAKE ANOTHER ONE!!!!!!!!! A SEQUEL!!!!!!!!:rainbowlaugh:

Uhhh, a self-publishing of what? Your own works or your fanfiction?

30$? 30 DOLLARS FOR A HARDCOPY?!

Where can I sign up?

But seriously. We'd back you up all the way. You have done amazingly this entire time, and we'd always back your corner.

Although, if you were going to publish "Legacy", one thing I'd have to say on it is that there is another Legacy, one in the Boloverse. I haven't read it, but I suggest a slight change of title to avoid misconception. Just a thought.

But you don't have to.

Still, if you want, because your computer can't handle Discord- :pinkiegasp:

No! Not that Discord, Pinks!

Discord the application. Your community would gather together and talk, share, and entertain themselves. And a few could speak for the community to you when making votes, or sharing thoughts.

Give us the chance and we'd organize faster than an Armored Infantry battalion. We'd be at your Command, Commander NFire.

NFire, have my babies!

I'd be in for a copy.

I'd buy a book! I'd buy a hard copy! Then the pages could soak up the tears you make me cry over a TANK! :raritydespair:

My Response is as Follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HA1mbZ_MMh8 So yes, please publish!!!

first off take it take all of it and when I saw this a feared the green check mark in the lower left of the story but im glad is still going.

It's not Fallout: Equestria

Heh, you could make a crack fic oneshot on that idea, "A Bolo in Fallout Equestria"

4436852 Consider international shipping costs as well.

4436852 I told you man, people will pay for quality. Get yourself a donation page / publisher and recieve your honest reward.

Oh thank goodness, I was so worried this was going to be a "You readers are all so wonderful, but it's time to bring this to a close" type post. I've had that happen to me three times in the past few weeks where these hugely talented authors just dropped a "That's it. I've lost my motivation, leaving fimfic, and not finishing the story" bomb unexpectedly. So glad this didn't go that route.

And yes, I would pay exorbitant amounts of money for a physical copy of this.

I'd far sooner buy a physical copy of Legacy than I would Fallout: Equestria.

On that note, be sure and save a copy for me, y'all.

$20-$50 for a book on demand is good value, the problem is when a single chapter takes up one of those books, and the whole collection starts to be counted in ammo boxes.

As long as the text doesnt have to be Microfiche to fit in a binding less than 6 inches thick, its all good? :twilightoops:

I absolutely love this story.

I would love to have a physical copy, and I wouldn't mind to pay the price for a hardcover either.

This story is the best.

4436852

It came as a surprise, pleasant and very welcomed at the skilled artists out there. Plus the folks who actually had commissions done of characters.

Thank you too!

Thank YOU good Sir!

As for costs go--I'd recommend looking into print on demand service. You NEVER know how many people will be able to back your product even if they're legitimately interested. Typically it increases the cost of a product by something like 20%, but this way everyone who wants and can afford a copy gets one plus you're not worried about loosing a copy if an address gets misplaced nor having to store a ludicrous amount of material in a small home where others might complain.

The logistics of it can bite you in the flank real easy without realizing it. Back in the day I was going to do something similar with t-shirts prior to print on demand services but bailed on it when those things came into play. I was lucky, others were not.

But I can at least promise I'd buy a copy. Let me know if you need some coverart! :derpytongue2:

NFire, yours is the first story I really got into. I now have quite a few physical copies and would absolutely pay through the nose for an edition of Legacy. Today I just got a copy of Crystal's Wishes. Definitely look into her and Anzel's process because they have great quality books compared to some of the others I have.

I'd buy one. It's been a hell of an adventure.

I would absolutely LOVE to get a physical copy. but... I never could. you see, my family knows I WAS a brony, but they don't know I still hang around this place. truth be told, your story is the main reason I'm sticking around, but my family would never approve of me getting a book with ponies in it. I would either have to refund it or give it away.

but I wish you luck! I can't wait for more chapters. oh and by the way, FO:E is a really good fanfic, but this one's lack of profane language alone makes it rank really high with me. once it's finished, it's safe to say l can label it the best fanfic I have ever read.

it's given me huge inspiration for my own story as well. said story is not a fanfic, but legitamate fiction.

I wish you well!

4436873 No, absolutely not. It hasn't come to an end, that I can promise. What would happen though is multiple volumes. Collect the chapters as they are written, edit and publish, then get them out to you good folks.

4436893 Love those tanks :) And like I keep saying, book does not mean end, period. AIn't gonna end till I end it and there's too much to tell :) Multiple books though..definitely.. Wow, that's a lot of rereads ...

4436899 Oh good grief, let's not think about that just yet :)

4436943 The Fanfiction here, Legacy. Collecting the chapters, making em all nice and stuff and getting it to you good folks in something you can hold or collect :) It's just a thought.

4436948 It is kinda expensive though, haven't looked at all the details, but the thicker it is, the more it costs.
Oh yes, if it's gonna be done, they'll be voting and everything. The color, the picture on the front of the dustcover, Hardcover or paperback, all kinds of input needed.
I think a title would be a good thing to have chosen, I've though "The Collected Boloverse" but that doesn't quite do it..so definitely some voting's gonna happen :)

4436961 I..uh...uhm.. Not quite sure what to say but appreciate the sentiment? I'll take that as a yes for printing too :)

4436976 Yay!:yay:

4436989 I'll see if they have waterproofing too :)

4436991 That was hilarious! Okay, I'll start digging into costs and present it to ya :)

4437023 It's very much a going thing, still tons to write, but was thinking every so often, collect the chapters, clean it up, make it special and offer it to wonderful folks like yourself :)

4437037 I would be afraid of being lynched by the fans of FO:E :)

4437041 Oh absolutely! Books aren't that expensive to do so, thank goodness, but it will cost more..so yes. Everything up front and honest!

4437087 I know, I know, but still.. :) You all do need to realize this can't be sold outright, it infringes on so many copyrights I'd be buried underneath lawsuits till I died. BUT!..nothing says I can't self-publish and buy the copies and give them to you in trade for what I paid for them..see what I did? I will research donation pages just in case as well, but I think I have another idea, we'll see.

4437091 Nope! No ending! Just a collected work of what's been put up so far. But neater and cleaner and stuff like that, all professional and..stuff :)

4437094 A warning, it might be multiple volumes, so there's one problem.. I would collect them as I go, and when enough are done, publish the new book. I will NOT, let me repeat, NOT make a profit. What I am charged for the books will be the cost, plus shipping, that's it. No profit whatsoever. Yes, I'm an idiot :)

4437104 I was thinking about that one chapter, yes I'll never hear the end of it :) But I could always put in the other stuff I wrote as well, sort of an extras along with the big chapter. Or, bust up the big chapter among volumes ..I.. honestly don't know yet.

4437118 I am so glad you enjoy it, honestly. I love writing it, love the remarks and everything you and folks out there leave :)

4437392 What I was quoting was from a POD service, hardback and paperback, so not stuck with inventory. The ONLY problem, is I cannot sell it through them or ANY store. The publishers who hold the rights to the Bolo name and trademarks would bury me.

4437652 I didn't know that, I am humbled, seriously. Yes, I will definitely do that! Can you send me a link or something for that? Where to purchase would give me an idea of what they did.

4437671 Yay! And YOU were the first to ever make fanart for it too! Don't think I've forgotten, I've got a printed copy hanging on my wall :)

4437785 As a famous person once said, "There is always a way." I could even go to a local AlphaGraphics here, make a fake dustcover with "Tales of Manly Things by Manly Men" on it and use that instead..slip it right into the house! :) Never give up hope, and I will continue the story as long as I have breath in me :)

4437934 Oh. I wouldn't do that if I were you. The story might be of your creation, but the source content is still hasbro's. If they catch whiff of that they'll kill you.

4437936 Yeah, really gotta watch out for those folks..poor Button Mash...

4437941 It actually gets annoying when the material shut down wasn't actually for money but just by fans for fans made for free.

4437942 It is, admittedly. Unlike Japan where fan made material is encouraged, even at cons specifically for it, it only makes folks buy the real thing more. US companies could learn from that.

4437948 Exactly. Hasbro is stupid.

i may be a bit late, but hell, given the right payment method I'd buy one.

4438099 Yay! Well, I don't have a paypal or anything..probably be 'send it in the mail' oldschool..something like that :)

4437934

Glad to hear you liked it so much :D

4438217
Hell I would send it...though I don't know what you want with €....

4438228 I did, and still do, very much :)

4438235 Just priced the book. We're looking at hardcover, gold lettering on blue fabric. With a dustcover and that means art yay! 300 pages, the cost would be 18.65USD before shipping. figure on the top end, 25.00USD for Ship and book..so.. This is all ballpark.. Figure approximately 23.75 Euro..best I can figure at exchange rates right now.

4438258 Thas actually not that much. Let's make it 35 and ship it with DHL.

4438284 Whatever would get it to you :pinkiehappy:

Not a bad idea. although ID wait until the story is complete to do it.

4437936

Ah. but what most people forget is this, by LAW if you can prove that 10% (Might be 20%) of the material is total NEW material. then its not copyright infringement

still, wouldn't hurt to talk to a lawyer and make sure I'm remembering that right

4438291 That definitely is going to be a long wait :pinkiehappy:

4438311

One thing you've mentioned but nothing else is that Athena was carrying a base module. any idea when U gonna mention that again?

4438323 Right, the nanos programmed for underground base building! I cna say positively, without a doubt..maaaaaaybe :)

4438341

NOW, if you wanted a funny way to brin ghte base in, have Big Max break through a partially complete roof!!!! LOLOL

4438346 I will definitely give you credit for that if I use it, promise! :)

4437934

What I was quoting was from a POD service, hardback and paperback, so not stuck with inventory. The ONLY problem, is I cannot sell it through them or ANY store. The publishers who hold the rights to the Bolo name and trademarks would bury me.

Ah, very good then. You just said that you were going to autograph them all so I assumed they'd be printed and you'd have to handle them. :derpytongue2:

You'd have to also worry about Hasbro, but it's not impossible to do. You could sell them as an unauthorized parody. It'd have to say so on the cover as you're not known for doing parodies (like SNL or MAD Magazine), but it'd be 100% legal. :pinkiehappy:

There was a book series called Star Wreck that was an unauthorized parody of the Star Trek: the Next Generation show that did the same thing. Never big, but also never sued.

Don't know what you'd want with that info, but thought I'd give it too you. Mind you I'm no lawyer and you might want to talk to someone with a legal degree just to make sure everything I said was lined up right. :twilightsheepish:
